No and yes, A humidor is used for storing cigars so they don't get stale, but most people don't purchase that many in advance that would justify purchasing one. And yes Cigars taste stronger than cigarettes and are not supposed to be inhaled as cigarettes would be. It's more of a casual smoke for the golf course or watching a ballgame enjoying life. I hope that helped and in no way am I endorsing smoking.

No, you dont' need one to smoke a cigar. and yes they taste completely different from a cigarette, also you don't want to inhale them. Try looking for a cigar club in your area, or a restraunt that may have a cigar lounge. a good cigar to try out for your first time if you want to build up is the upman 1844, it's around 10-12 $ a cigar and it's pretty tasty.

The flame (or coal if you are a purist) on the cigar has dried the tobacco. It is drawing moisture from the Humidor. This is what the Humidor is supposed to do. Put moisture into the tobacco and hold the moisture at the level you prefer. If the Humidor is below the Humidity you prefer, add propylene glycol to the sponge and then add distilled water a little at a time until the wood and tobacco reach the desired humidity. If you accidentally go too high, just leave the Humidor open for a couple of hours and the excess moisture in the wood and sponge will evaporate.
