You really need to check it out for yourself.
Above the Tropic of Capricorn it's pretty much an endless summer. The further south you go the colder it gets. Nothing like northern USA, Canada or Britain. We only get proper snow in the Australian Alps.

Forecast for Saturday 21/04/07
Sydney 24° Early fog, then fine.
Melbourne 21° A few showers.
Brisbane 29° Chance late shower or storm
Perth 25° Fine. Mostly sunny.
Adelaide 22° Fine day. Mostly sunny afternoon.
Hobart 18° Showers developing.
Canberra 22° Fine, mostly sunny.
Darwin 34° Fine and sunny.

It Is winter over there however, the weather varies over there. It depends on the exact location. If you are going to Brisbane it will be warmer compared to Melbourne and Perth. Overall, it will be between 4-25 degrees. However be mindful that the weather change cvan be rather drastic within the day so be mindful to always bring a sweather.

Yep, Alig & Alienaviator have got it right Our Winters are a bit worse than UK summers. There are times in winter that I have to plug in the electric heater. Then again, I am from Fremantle in WA, and that's just about the best part of the whole world to live in. Beware question asker, we live in a vast continent and in some parts it snows and in the desert parts of WA we get actual frost! Just be careful, don't always think of Australia as Bondi Beach or Sydney.
