I feel that I must have only one in my computer. If I have two, that will slow the system, I think. Is this correct? In case of only one, which one can I choose?

Just having additional software on the machine does not slow it down. Running too many programmes at once uses up memory and processor time, this will reduce your speed. The only time storing anything on the disk slows the machine is if you fillit to about 80%. Try firefox, it is a good very secure browser, and if you find you need something it can not give, you can fall back to IE.
