In my case, I prefer some background noise while I work. It seems to help me stay motivated. If I am doing something that requires intense thought then I prefer less noise.

If think you meant to say feel. If so I get tensed up in noisy enviornments. Even when I was a kid I'd get that way in a noisy classroom at school. I never went to rock concerts with my friends because I knew I wouldn't have a good time. I wish I could tell you why. I know that it doesn't bother everyone. I just try and stay away from placing myself in places like that because I know I won't be able to do my best. Interestingly though my daughter seems not to like places or situations like that as well. She is ten and has always run to her room and closed the door when I vacuum. If her dad goes to mow the lawn, she'll come inside until he's done. I guess some of us are just wired that way.
