I'm in the USA and I like Marmite. I don't eat it often, but I do buy a jar every now and then when the urge hits me. Having said that, it's probably going to be fairly rare to find Marmite eaters outside of the UK for 3 reasons:
1. Availability: While it is fairly easy to find Marmite in larger cities in the USA, it's only going to be stocked in specialty stores or specialty sections of larger supermarkets. It's not served in restaurants. So, you don't run across it by accident.
2. Exposure: Most people will have never heard of it. As noted in point #1, you just don't see it very often. You would have to be introduced to it by a friend who already likes it. Alternately, you could have tried it and liked it on a trip to the UK, which is what happened with me. Which leads us to...
3. Taste, appearance, etc.: Let's face it. Marmite's not for everyone. I suspect exposure at a young age makes it more palatable, but a goodly percentage of people I know who first try it as adults just don't like it. Some people aren't even willing to give it a try. Their loss, I suppose.

Im Irish and i hate it, its not popular here but i suppose the odd person would eat it. Although we had an Aussie girl working with us who absolutely loved marmite and also had this other stuff couriered over from home called vegemite and it came in a yellow tube and looked even worse than marmite.

I'm Australian (But I live in the UK) and thank god their is someone else who likes Marmite. I do like it. However I am much more obsessed with the Aussie version, VEGIMITE. You can buy it in the UK so I was lucky. Can't do without either!

I´m south african and I love it. When we were young and our mom wouldn´t buy us peanut butter, we used to mix it with butter till it went light brown and spread it on our bread to make mock peanut butter. Marmite tastes great on matzos with grated cheddar and butter.
