Slice it in half cross ways, so you then have two layers. Then cut it in half twice down through the top (making a large cross) . Ta DA! 8 pieces.

The first slice would be from north to south as you look at it from the top. The second slice would be east to west as you look at it from the top. Now look at the cake from the side and make a slice halfway up, between the two layers. That gives you eight pieces with only three cuts.

hmm, just consider it like a rectangle. so how do you cut a rectangular cake into 8 slabs?like this # except it only has 1 horiznatal line (in the middle)
