There are so many different styled holsters on the market today with the thumb break holster being just one.
A thumb break holster is made where it's easier to remove the weapon from the holster. A visit to the countless websites offering sales of holsters will provide you photographs of such a holster.
There are also "security" holsters which make it more difficult to remove the weapon by someone attempting to take the weapon from you!
The below websites provide you with more information.
Best wishes.

It's a holster where there is a safety strap that snaps (or velcros) and locks the firearm in the holster, usually right on top. The firearm is released by using your thumb to release the snap and drawing it in one motion. They're available for almost any handgun.
They're usually used for unconcealed carry by police or security officers. It doesn't make a lot of sense for concealed carry. The intent is to protect the firearm from being taken by someone sneaking up on the officer.

A thumb break holster has a flat over the rear of the slide that snaps that requires you to pop the snap with your thumb to remove the weapon. If you can find one that fits your piece I guess it would work.

It is just a strap like device on the holster to keep the gun from falling out.
