most african-american Marines who been in for 3 or more years busted down to private for some reason or another and to top it off, not getting paid for months at a time. we bought them personal hygiene items and also treated them for a nice time in town. and by the way, these busted down privates ran our radio section! they were the experts! on the other hand, i seen caucasian Marines make Sergeant in a year or less in our same unit. i wont say that this unit is a reflection of the Marine Corps as a whole but i do know, from my experience, an african-american person normally needs to kiss alot of a s s in order to reach sergeant and up. the Marine Corps is the only branch of the service that uses points, what they call a "cutting score" which in itself very elusive in order to get promoted.my question is for higher ranking Marines, why do u give african-american Marines a harder time to move up the ranks than a caucasian equivolent? and why so many have Article 15's?

Listen up civilian! You were never a part of my Marine Corps. If you had ever been in my beloved Corps you would know that Marines only come in one color and thats GREEN. Some are "light green" and some are "dark green" and we all bleed the same. The Marine Corps is the only place I have ever truly been a part of an equal opportunity employer. Get a life will ya.....

If they were busted to Private, they must have done something wrong and got caught. The Marines would not bust somebody for no reason. What rank were they prior to their rank being reduced? Typically the reduction is to the next lower pay grade or to any pay grade as long as the original grade is within the CO's promotion authority.

They didn't get paid for months? Under Article 15 of the UCMG, the maximum forfeiture is one-half of one month's pay for two months.

The military (all branches) are fairly even with how making rank depends on the individual rather than their race. The points systems used by the Marines and Army as well as the system used in the Navy make it near impossible for somebody to not be advanced because of their race. If somebody gets advanced quickly they are probably in a field that allows quick advancement and they've worked their butts off to get there.

Lets see I had 3 DIs, 2 black sergeants, one gunny and one staff, and one sergeant that was Puerto Rican. The rest time I was in the Marine Corps every sergeant that was over me was black, not one, everyone. I have a son in the Army right now and the Army uses Points. So what I am saying you are just lying to get a rise out of somebody and are in fact just a racist your self. You are just someone who has never been anywhere and never done anything and just too lazy to start now so you think it is funny to show your stupid a@@. Well you have succeed.
