I am 5 foot 6 and weight 11 stone 4 pounds. I am 19 years old. I can't afford to join a gym. Whats the best diet and the amount of calories I should eat each day to lose weight?

how fast?
there is no real quick fix. we've all heard experts..
eat smaller portions and rather than having 3 big meals..
have 6 small meals
so in between meals you arent hungry and you dont over-eat

AVOID EATING AFTER 8PM
munch on ice cubes if it helps.. or brush your teeth.

drink plenty of water.
and get plenty of rest.

watch what you drink. dont drink soft drinks or sports drinks cos the unused electrolytes just get turned into body fat.. if you dont plan to workout..

eat in moderation..
have more veggies and fruit;
try your best to avoid sweets.

there are fad diets out there today.. like the lemon detox one.. but its hard to stick to them and they're simply FADS.. how many calories you should eat to lose weight depends on your lifestyle and your body fat and muscle content.

if you are concerned you can speak to your doctor or pharmacist? but just eat healthy.

The only tried and true way to lose weight is to exercise more and eat less. I try to stay at a 1,600 caloric per day intake. I walk/jog 6 days per week and lift weights one day per week. I go outside when I can and am fortunate to have a treadmill. My goal is to burn 330 calories in 30 minutes. I have not made it yet. I have lost 27 pounds over 6 months. It is not easy and one must confront this issue every day. I encourage you to start walking. I walk in all types of weather and find it both physically and mentally helpful. No diet is going to really work if you do not increase the activity level. I wish you the best.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
