MMMMM....
Chocolate Butter Cream Icing
1/2 cup solid vegetable shortening
1/2 cup butter or margarine
3/4 cup cocoa or three 1 oz. unsweetened chocolate squares, melted
1 teaspoon Clear Vanilla Extract
4 cups sifted confectioners' sugar (approx. 1 lb.)
3-4 tablespoons milk
Light corn syrup**
Cream shortening and butter with electric mixer. Add cocoa and vanilla. Gradually add sugar, one cup at a time, beating well on medium speed. Scrape sides and bottom of bowl often. When all sugar has been mixed in, icing will appear dry. Add milk and beat at medium speed until light and fluffy. Keep icing covered with a damp cloth until ready to use.
Darker Chocolate Icing: Add 1 additional unsweetened chocolate square (or ¼ cup sifted cocoa powder) and 1 additional tablespoon of milk to Chocolate Buttercream Icing.
Chocolate Mocha Icing: Substitute freshly brewed strong coffee for milk in recipe.
For a unique change of pace, use 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon Wilton Candy Flavors in place of vanilla extract.
For best results, keep icing bowl in refrigerator when not in use.
Refrigerated in an airtight container, this icing can be stored 2 weeks. Rewhip before using.
YIELD: 3 cups
**Add 3-4 tablespoons light corn syrup per recipe to thin for icing cake.

2 cups icing sugar
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
Sift into a bowl
1/4 teaspoon butter
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Add to sugar
About 2 tablespoons hot water
Add enough water to make a spreadable consistency.
Real Chocolate Icing
200g chocolate (we use the Cadbury energy chocolate)
Melt the chocolate in a bain-Marie (In a big dish pour boiling water, put another bowl in it containing the chocolate and let melt).
25g butter
1/2 cup cream
Add the butter and the cream
Mix until it thickens.
Let cool down, mix before using it.

I like chocolate buttercream icing, and it's very easy to make.
6 tablespoons butter, softened
2 2/3 cups confectioners' sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
1/3 cup milk
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
Place butter in a bowl and beat until creamy. Add sugar and cocoa, mixing well. Stir in milk in portions, stirring each time. Add vanilla. Spread on cooled cake or other items needing frosting.

Add a tablespoon or so to the icing sugar depending on how much icing you want to make.
Glace Icing:
6oz icing sugar
1 tbls cocoa
1-2 tbls water. (Maybe more)
Sift sugar and cocoa together, add water a little at a time until stiff but spreadable.
Butter Icing:
6oz icing sugar
1 tbls cocoa
4 oz Butter/marge
Sift sugar and cocoa together, add butter and blend into the sugar mixture untill light and fluffy.
Be sure to use cocoa powder and NOT drinking chocolate

This group is for those who like to cook, collect recipes or just share family traditions through weekend e-mail wars. To explain how a war works: Each weekend we will have an open group where everyone can post recipes or traditions to the group from Friday through Sunday evening. We will have themed wars such as Chicken recipes or Cookie recipes for example. We will also have Holiday themed wars to cover Christmas, Easter, Valentines, St. Patrick's Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, 4th of July and maybe others too. I would also like to do freezer cooking or once a month cooking, grilling, baking and so on. So when a war is announced please send in your recipes.
I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU JOIN THIS GROUP IN DAILY DIGEST MODE. IT IS A HIGH VOLUME GROUP DURING THE MONTHLY WAR.
