Re-boot your PC and try again, using Note Pad, before you do anything else

If the DOS batch file still won't open, please re-post and give us the name of the Batch File that is causing the error message. This could be serious!

thumbs up for Justin.. if you want to run something like a *.bat script, then you need to run it from the command line environment.. not windows. Clicking on anything like that will just snap open and close.. unless it links to some Windows component. Start from the "cmd" or "command" environment. CMD and COMMAND are two separate shells... COMMAND is a 16-bit DOS-like shell, while CMD is 32 or 64 bit, and had some added functionality. Also, if you are running Windows 7, then Dos no longer exists. Now it is the "Command Interpreter".. it looks and smells a lot like DOS, but not all the commands and behaviors are the same. *>Command still says "Windows DOS" - maybe there is something left over even though MS says it isn't. One last thing, you may need to run as an administrator. Run CMD a couple of times, or find it under your Windows Accessories.. once you have a menu item or a shortcut, you can right-click the icon shortcut for CMD and choose " run as administrator".
