I assume you mean Mary Magdalen.

There is no evidence, scripture, tradition, or even legend that says that Jesus married Mary Magdalen.

This concept is a new heresy from Dan Brown and others that attacks the integrity of Jesus, Mary Magdalen, all of the New Testament writers, and all early Church leaders whose two thousand year old testimony should speak for themselves.

With love in Christ.

I assume you are referring to Mary Magdalene (not his mother) because of the movie that was out. And no, Jesus never married. Jesus and Mary were common names back then. If they found a tomb with Jesus and Mary it would have been a different Jesus. Archeologists agree there is no way to know who they were.

It would have been the norm for a Jewish man of his age, particularly in a position of religious leadership, to be married and have children. Since the gospels cannot be trusted as any sort of accurate authority regarding the life of Jesus, and since they seem to go out of their way to vilify Mary Magdalene, I think that it's more probable than improbable that he and Mary were married and had children.

What is the big deal about Jesus having married Mary Magdalene? That in no way discounts his spirituality.

VENKATESH - You are a Hindu like me and you should not post such objectionable questions. When we read Mary means Mother Mary of Jesus and insulting others will not lead to any salvation. It will only create hatredness about us in their mind. If you can believe it is ok, otherwise ignore and mind your business. Never hurt anyone, atleast in religious questions.

If other religion people ask questions like this about our religious Myths will you be able to answer or tolerate it ? Think and act-

obviously you`re talking about Mary Magdalene, but these people here that told you Jesus was Mary`s son didn`t exactly *understand* your question. I don`t think that we could actually know this, because we don`t have enough information about it and the majority of info that we have is biased..

Talk about perfect ignorance. Yes Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married. The gnostic marriage ceremony is sexual intercourse (“…and they become one flesh”).

“he loved her more than all the disciples, and used to kiss her often on her mouth.”
-- gospel of Philip

By the way, Philip was an apostle too you know, there were twelve you see. Is there any particular reason why we only have a few gospels in the NT?

The reason why the NT doesn’t mention it is because those who were picking & choosing what god said didn’t like it.
