I really don't get them...
So I know you can get them from pre-matetial(sp?) sex, but why is it only before marriage? Can you still get them after marriage?
And if you have it, and get married can your spouse get it?
How can you know if you have it?

A person can contract an STD from sex (vaginal, anal, or oral) - protected sex or unprotected sex. They can also contract an STD before and after getting married.
Condoms help prevent the spread of STDs, but condoms are not 100% effective.
There are STDs out there that are spread by DIRECT skin to skin contact like HPV (Human Papillomavirus) and genital herpes. Even if the guy is wearing a condom it's possible to spread these STDs. The condom only covers a man's penis - not the whole genital area. So, just the rubbing back and forth of the genital areas during sex is enough to contract either one of these viruses.
And, even if a person is a virgin when they enter a marriage, doesn't necessarily mean the other person is. If the other person has had any kind of sexual contact with someone else there is a possibility they have an STD. And, if they do have an STD, they can spread it to their spouse.
Also, things can happen during a marriage, such as cheating. If a person has an affair outside of the marriage they can contract and STD and then bring it home to their spouse.
It's always a good idea to get tested before and after you end a sexual relationship. I personally get tested before and after every boyfriend I have. It's also a really good idea to know your partners STD history. My fiance and I got tested together in the beginning of out relationship. Also, know your body. If something seems abnormal or strange, see a doctor! It's better to be safe then sorry!
Good luck!

STDs are diseases that you can get from having unprotected sex (without a condom) and even condoms aren't 100%! It's very scary because you can't tell by looking at someone if they have one. Yes you can get one if your married, your husband may have had one before he was with his wife. Also these days so many people cheat on their husbands and wives and that's how married people get stds too! Some diseases have symptoms and alot dont' have any. So the only way to know for sure is when you go to the gyno, have them screen you for stds. Don't worry they wont' think your crazy they test people all the time. I am 25 and i've only had sex with one person in my whole life and i got hpv. :( Be careful because it's scary out there know your partner.

Good question,
STD means Sexually Transmitted Disease, the abbrievation says that if you have sex you are prone to have it. Basically you get it because you have unprotected sex with people having STD. It is understood that Married people never take a chance to spoil their good life by having any relationships with anybody, so they limit their activity with only their partner who also respects the feeling for the spouse. The unmarried people have no other choice but to utilise the services of commercial Sex Workers or people with Sly Character. These people never have any values in them so they'll go to any lengths having their thirsty libidos satisfied. They will not see who has done it but rather what they get of that person. So if you have a unprotected relationship with such people you stand a chance to get STD. If you get infected the chain starts & it will spread even to your Spouse. So dont take a chance wait till the fairy/ prince come in your life & you will have a nice time for a long time to come. (PS. if you want to experiment, Please visit some known people who'll be ready to help you & not exploit you. God has given you two hands, They are generally more than enough for both the man & the Woman)

You can get them from unprotected sex... married or not. Marriage isn't some magical cure for any STDs or a form of protection(unless both are virgins before marriage...still has nothing to do with vows and a piece of paper).
You usually have symptoms of some sort and go to the doctor to find out that you have one.... some STDs like HPV may not have ANY symptoms...hence why protection is SO important. If you plan to, or are, married you can get tested even without symptoms....except for a few that have to be seen by the doctor to be diagnosed.
So NO it is not only before marriage, Yes you can get them after getting married,Yes your spouse can get it before and after you get married if you have one... and last GO to the Doctor.

They are like any other transmittable disease such as the flu. The only difference is they are transmitted thru sex. One is deadly, some are incurable, some cause you misery. You can get them anytime, married or not. The idea is that if you are in a monogaous relationship ( the same person) then if you both have no disease you will not get them ever. In premarrital sex one of you will have more than one sex partner most likely and the chances of catching an STD increase with every episode of unprotected sex with a different person. Stay safe use a condom until you are in a long term, stable relationship.
