We agree that Jesus = the word. Right?

Did you ever notice that throughout the Bible, specifically in Jeremiah the word of Jehovah speaks? Who is this? Michael? If you think so, I'd like to hear your interpretation of this verse from the NWT:

Jeremiah 32:26-27

26 At that the word of Jehovah occurred to Jeremiah, saying: 27 “Here I am, Jehovah, the God of all flesh. For me is there any matter at all too wonderful?

Yes, Augustine....that's why I took this right out of their own NWT Bible......They said themselves this is an accurate translation...

Thank you to the 2 JWs who responded....and I know that you use all versions of the bible but the NWT is your most trusted one.... so with that in mind, would either of you like to actually answer the question? I'm very curious of WHO you think this is talking?

Debbie Debbie Debbie.... you said
"If you have all the answers why even repproach Jehovah's Witnesses? Is it just to get a good laugh? To make others hate them so much they will not open their doors when we knock?"

I am truly concerned for you. I really want to know WHO is talking here in this verse. WHO is it? You didn't answer either!

WHY did the word call himself Jehovah if he is Michael the Archangel in Heaven? WHY? I really want to know!!!! No contempt....sheer curiosity.... and the hope that you might notice that this does NOT make sense!

And YES I thank GOD for every single thing He does in my life and I praise him and I worship Him. Don't ever accuse me of not being faithful to God. That is the very reason I ask this question. I believe with all of my heart and soul that Jesus is my God in the flesh. To me, and all Christians, this verse makes sense.
But surely if you think this is Michael speaking, it cannot make sense? Is Michael speaking, or Jesus????

Lillie - thanks for answering the question! OK, so you are saying that "the word" instead of "the Word" means that Jehovah himself is speaking? If that is the case, how can we explain Genesis 15: 1-4 again, in NWT?

1 After these things the word of Jehovah came to A´bram in a vision, saying: “Do not fear, A´bram. I am a shield for you. Your reward will be very great.” 2 At this A´bram said: “Sovereign Lord Jehovah, what will you give me, seeing that I am going childless and the one who will possess my house is a man of Damascus, E·li·e´zer?” 3 And A´bram added: “Look! You have given me no seed, and, look! a son of my household is succeeding me as heir.” 4 But, look! the word of Jehovah to him was in these words: “This man will not succeed you as heir, but one who will come out of your own inward parts will succeed you as heir.”

****Is this saying that Jehovah Himself came as a vision? Or did the word of Jehovah come as a vision?****

Achtung... thank you for answering that you believe that the word of Jehovah is an angel.

If this is the case, then why is the angel saying he is Jehovah in Jeremiah and why is it appearing as Jehovah in Genesis in a vision as shown above?

** Also, I did make mention that it is THRUOUT the bible.

2007-04-20 09:54:44 · update #6

*** Also, Achtung.... you said (Psalm 103:20) Bless Jehovah, O you angels of his, mighty in power, carrying out his word, By listening to the voice of his word.

This is saying that angels LISTEN to the word, not that they ARE the word.

This so-called "question" reflects a profound misunderstanding of the term "the word of Jehovah". In fact, the term is not unique to the book of Jeremiah, but appears 209 times (including footnotes) in both the so-called "Old" and "New Testaments".

In fact, this question's arguments tend to prove that "the Word" is an angel (a bible concept which this questioner has elsewhere sought to disprove).

(Zechariah 1:7-9) On the twenty-fourth day..., the word of Jehovah occurred to Zechariah..., saying: “I saw in the night, and, look! a man riding on a red horse...” And so [Zechariah] said: “Who are these, my lord?” At that the angel who was speaking with me said to me: “I myself shall show you...

(Psalm 103:20) Bless Jehovah, O you angels of his, mighty in power, carrying out his word, By listening to the voice of his word.

Thanks for another opportunity to demonstrate the distinct persons of Jehovah the Father and Jesus the Son!

How sad to see so much bickering in the world and especially right here on R&S! As one of my brothers mentioned our war is Against the Wicked Forces that are Unseen! BTW; If people are not answering you it is because they are sick of all this twisting so that you can feel like a big shot. Earlier I answered a very nice question about someone studying with Jehovah's Witnesses and some words had been spoken between her family on the phone. Proud Catholic had an over-all nice remark to say to her. Now, I just happen to read their comment and I quote: "Why are you asking jehovah's witnesses to fight Evil they are Evil..." So, how are we to believe anything coming out of your mouths? Further Jehovah reads hearts. Here is what I would hope each reasoning and good-hearted person would consider>>> Here it is in The New Jerusalem Bible: Romans 13:10 Love is the one thing that cannot hurt your neighbor; that is why it is the answer to every one of the commandments. I would say there are many that throw all the commandments by the way-side, wouldn't you? sigh!

There is a difference between the usage of "word" or "Word" in the Bible.

The "word" of God can mean the teachings and sayings coming from God. See Mat 4:4 & Mar 7:13

The "Word" of God is a term used for Jesus. John 1:1.

Jer 32:26-27 uses the "word" NOT "Word" of Jehovah. The "Word" is a person as in John 1, that is, Jesus.

So this word or the sayings/teachings of Jehovah occurred to Jeremiah as Jer 32:26-27 states.

Compare the difference in the 'w' when it refers to Jesus such as in John 1:1 and the text that you for example quoted.
Doubtless on many occasions during his prehuman existence as the Word,Jesus acted as Jehovah'a spokesman to persons on earth. While certain texts refer to Jehovah as though directly speaking to humans, other texts make it clear that he did so through an angelic representative.(Compare Ex 3:2-4 with Acts7:30,35).
Reasonably in the majority of cases,Jehovah spoke through the Word.He likely did so in Eden, for on two of the three occasions where mention is made of God's speaking there, the record specifically shows someone was with him, undoubtedly his Son(Gen1:26-30;2:16,17;3:8-19,22).
The angel who guided Israel through the wilderness and whose voice the Israelites were strictly to obey because 'Jehovah's name was within in him',may therefore have been God's Son,the Word - Ex 23:20-23;compare Jos5:13-15.
This does not mean that the Word is the only angelic representative through Jehovah has spoken .The inspired statements at Acts7:53;Galatians3:19 and Hebrews 2:2,3 make clear that the Law covenant was transmitted to Moses by angelic sons of God other than his Firstborn.
I need to add that the concept of a trinity is not a Bible teaching but was a pagan belief fused in with apostate Christianity in the fourth century CE.
The Bible teaches that Jehovah is Almighty God.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God and not God the Son.

I've debated this, along with the Gospel of John 1:1, and the return arguement is that scripture was re-written and those things were not originally there. You do know that JW have their own version of the Holy Bible and its the only one they are permitted to have and read.

The following is from the below link. Their own information.

The Jehovah's Witness Bible

The New World Translation

The New World Translation of the Bible is Jehovah's Witnesses own translation, no other religious group uses this Bible and Jehovah's Witnesses make very little use of other Bibles.

In A Grossly misleading translation ( new world translation )

John 1:1, which reads "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God," is shockingly mistranslated, "Originally the Word was, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god," in a New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures, published under the auspices of Jehovah's Witnesses.

You write not out of curiosity but out of contempt. You don't want to know the truth. You want to throw darts and arrows at a peaceful group of people. You want to hold them up to ridicule and make everyone hate them. They are so humble they even try to answer your question.

What has made you attack them? I know the answer.
Jesus said they hated me and since you are my followers they will hate you also. I am glad we are in such good company.

If you have all the answers why even repproach Jehovah's Witnesses? Is it just to get a good laugh?
To make others hate them so much they will not open their doors when we knock?

This work is overseen by the angels. We are just carrying the bible. God said he would make the stones cry out if no one would do this work.

Jehovah wants no one to be destroyed. Not even you. He wants to give you every opportunity to come around to His way of thinking before he brings an execution on this ungodly world.

Michael who was renamed Jesus on earth is God's son. He is also our King and Savior. He has commissioned all Christians to go out and teach people the things he taught us about Our Father. He laid down his life for the people of the earth to buy you back from Adams sin. Where is the thanks?
Do you even bow your head and thank God for the food you eat or the roof over your head?

We owe Him everything.
The scripture at Jeremiah is oh so true....there is no matter too wonderful for our God to do...He can accomplish anything.

There is a life line left to you. Prayer.
Ask God to read your heart and to humble you.

Then when God's people knock on your door, silently thank God as you let them in.

This doesnt seem like a valid question to me. It just seems like youre having a dig at them. Say, youre not that penguin guy in disguise are you?? You seem like one angry female to me. What does it matter if you believe different to them? The contempt & hate shine right through in your supposed
'question'. I dont know what your religion is but doesnt it teach tolerance instead of bitterness? You will always find people who will agree with you, is that why youre here? To feed your ego? Leave the Mormons & JWs alone. You need to calm down girl!

Anna, Jehovah's Witnesses have never disagreed the Jesus is the Word, or Logos of Jehovah. The scriptures speak of him as Jehovah's mouthpiece, as most likely the spiritual person who transmitted the Mosaic Law Code to Moses and the Israelites, who inspired the Prophets, and who certainly would have been the mouthpiece Jehovah would use to inspire Jeremiah to tell His unrepentant nation that they were worthy of punishment. We respect Jesus immensely as this position, and in fact he is described as being in the same position in the book of Revelation - a book which describes his actions now as a resurrected spiritual king in heaven. We do not believe Jesus and Jehovah are the same person - for the scriptures say "Our God Jehovah is ONE Jehovah". But that never negates the important role Jesus has always played as Jehovah's cocreator, master worker, King, High Priest, and Logos. And he left a protocol for all true Christians to follow.
