Go to the Oerlikon Newmarkt, just right there, they have a decent food court. (And a new McDonalds, not sure if it's open yet, but probably will be by June.)

Or buy a sandwich from the Coop just across the street (the grocery store) and eat it in your lovely room.

Edit: oh, nice to eat--forget McDOnald's obviously. Mamma Mia is a decent pizzeria right behind the hotel. It's "reasonable" but not what I'd call "cheap" exactly. My family of four ate there just last week for 150 CHF, including dessert, but no wine.

The guy above is right....the most economical places to eat in Zurich (I know Oerlikon very well) will be Migros, Manor and Coop buffets (but believe me, they are nothing like a Wal-Mart!!!), and remember, cheap in Switzerland is $20 USD. There is a Burker King in Oerlikon and you can always eat at the pizza place called Pizza Corner. Take the #11 Tram which will take you around the city in a circle. You can get off near the Hauptbanhof and there is a very cheap Chinese place (normally Chinese is VERY EXPENSIVE in CH) about a block up from the train station. Also, be sure and stop in Bellevue and go to the sausage stand across the street from the Bellevue Platz. It is the best sausage in town and runs $5USD or so for a sausage. Drinks and fries are extra of course. Nothing is cheap in CH. I have to agree...if you are staying at the Swissotel...why are you worried about what you pay for food?

If you can afford the Swissotel, why you care about cost of food????

Cheap eateries: MIGROS, COOP, MANOR
they are major stores, like Wal-Mart type with restaurants
