Does the lack of minerals in the bottled water make it safe? The Dr. told this individual bottled water went right through you. I drink a lot of bottled water and find this to be true. Are you hydrated as well drinking bottled water?

There is more to it than just drinking bottled water - if you are involved in heavy exercise or even just heavy sweating on a hot day the water you lose contains a lot of minerals - those need to be replaced - if they are not then your body becomes out of balance. You retain water when you have too much sodium in your system - the opposite would also be the case.

Water is water, H20. Bottled is a SCAM, sports drinks are a waste of cash...the bottles are PLASTIC.....nondegradable
Water stays in your body because of the sodium in your diet. IF you are on a super low sodium (salt) diet, you will not hold onto the water as well. Your blood serum is basically just "saline" or salt water. (I'm sure you have tasted it)
All water "goes right through you" cuz it goes right to the bladder if you have more than you need.
Unless you are marathoning and losing major salt, plain water is more than fine. Lots of people drink more water than they need, then they pee a lot and can actually wash the sodium right out of their bodies (like the lady who died from drinking too much water)
Your body is made up of water and minerals. Tap water and bottled water are no different. You are wasting your money and ruining the environment if you use lots of bottled water. Drink tap water, eat a banana and something salty now and then, and you'll be JUST FINE

I really don't think you can do this. It is OBVIOUSLY because you want to make more money if you do it.... what other reason would there be? I'd just ask and hope that more people opt for the bottled water. If I couldn't get tap at a restaurant, I'd never go there again and I'd tell everyone I know how much the place sucked. I've been to some of the best restaurants in the world and I've never been denied tap water.... pathetic.

they have fitness water out now that has essential vitamins/minerals/nutrients in it, so that should be better than plain bottled water. But it would probably be a good idea to also get enough milk and/or fruit juice (especially orange juice), in addition to the water because the body also needs the calcium, Vitamin C and other vitamins/minerals/nutrients that they contain.

Actually, many bottled waters add minerals "for taste" (according to the label, anyway). The problem might be drinking too much water, leading to excessive urination and depletion of vitamins and minerals because you are peeing them out.

I know that drinking a ridiculous amount of water is bad because it washes out all the nutrients in your body that it needs to sustain itself.

That "doctor" does not have any idea of what their talking about. One can become very hydrated even drinking distilled water. It is the water, not anything else that provides the body with water. Duh!!!!

water hydrates your body, not minerals. i've never heard of such a thing.
