Why a hybrid, when we have electric cars? You can do more. Do it.

For those who want to know what I do for the environment. For 1, I already own a hyrid but I'm buying an electric car to be even cleaner. All of my buildings are fitted with solar panels. In the summer, the company sends me a credit on my energy bill. I also walk or ride to anywhere closeby. I recycle. I buy organic food. I donate to several charities. I buy green PCs. Now, for you who keep asking, step your game up!

Yes! Believe it or not even a some evangelical Christians are joining the movement to respect and save the planet. Bush is pretty much isolating himself from the world and reality.

Check it out.

There are a lot of us conservatives that are into protecting the environment. I have a job were I make a good living doing environmental and endangered species projects. I think finding a practical solution to the global warming will be the best thing since sliced bread. The reason for that is because then we will have created climate control and we will have an abundance of wealth from it.

In my experience, developers are in the pockets of all politicians, no matter the party. Developers have tons of money to throw around and they do it well. They have raped my state to where there is almost no migrating land left for wild life. I am a conservative, but I love my state and am trying to do something about it by joining an initiative to make developers answer to the citizens when they want to change land use. As of right now the politicians allow them to do anything they want, clear cut trees, bury wildlife, drain swamps and worse.

If by protecting the environment, you mean following Al Gore and John Edwards leads by living in large sprawling mansions and flying all over the country in high emission jets, while telling the rest of us how we could cut back on carbon usage, then yes, I am sure there are plenty of conservatives okay with that.

I recycle - paper, plastic & aluminum.
I walk or ride my bike for most errands near home.
I quit riding off-road motorcycles when I saw how they permanently scarred the desert. I limit my downhill bicycle riding to ski trails in the mountains.
I purchase paper and plastic made from recycled materials when they are available.
I switched to those neon lightbulbs, and use as little electricity as possible.
What do you do?

You mean by recycling? I do that. Do you mean by driving a hybrid vehicle? I do that. Do you mean by walking when its within a reasonable distance? I do that. Now believe it or not, I am by definition the most conservative person I know. Therefore the facts tell me that yes there is at least one conservative who is helping to protect our enviornment. Glad to be of service.

I'm getting a new SUV this summer. When I do I promise to plant a couple new trees in our yard to offset my carbon output. That way I don't have to bother Al Gore by sending him $200/mo to have a kid in Honduras plant one for me. The upside is that the carbon offsetting trees will be right here, where I'm burning all that gas!

sure - but does that mean that we have to agree with the global warming myth? Remember the global COOLING scare in the early 1970s - same crap, different version.

EDIT: Daniel, Arnold is a jacka**. He is one of the worst governors we have ever had. He does things for the cameras.
