Most common side effects of Lipitor are Headache, diarrhea, stomach/abdominal pain, or joint pain may occur.
This drug may infrequently cause muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness (which can rarely lead to a very serious condition called rhabdomyolysis). Although these are rare you definitely need to consult your physician if that is the case.
Finally there are a few very rare but serious side effects such as: yellowing eyes and skin, dark urine, severe fatigue, severe stomach/abdominal pain, persistent nausea, change in the amount of urine.
If these happen you definitely need to consult your physical. It could be a sign of renal (kidney) or hepatic (liver) issues.
Weight gain is not a listed side effect in the PI (product information) nor when consulting Webmd. Ideally I would say no, however if it is the only change either medically or lifestyle wise I would address the issue with your physician.
My lord why do I feel like a commerical? ;)

Lipitor is not associated with any changes in weight.
I think RandonChaos covered everything else.
