Exercise IS the best way to tone your muscles and to keep down body fat. You should do TWO types of exercising -- both weight lifting (for lean muscle mass) and some cardio exercises to burn more calories. The lifting should also help to boost your metabolism (so you burn even more calories when your body is at rest).
If you are too few calories, your body may perceive this as starvation and will tend to store fat on your body -- even tho' you may be loosing weight.
The best way to avoid this starvation mechanism is to eat just a little bit less calories than you burn. This should help you lose weight w/o hording body fat.
Also if you have too much salt in your diet, you may have a lot of water weight since the salt tends to retain water in your body.
Hope that helps.

Your weight is correct as per your height. You look fat, from where? You have not written but assuming it must be abdomen or belly, here is an exercise. Your abdominal muscles tone has gone down & is weak. That is the reason you have ponch or bulged abdomen. To get rid of it you will have to do this exercise & regularly. This is called foot elevation exercise. Lie on your back on a bed, hands by your side & close, legs shoud be stretched & straight. Don't keep pillow under your neck or head. Now raise both legs up together by 18 inches & hold it their for as much time you can, knee should not bend. When it seems impossible to hold your leg up, put it down, take rest for 2 mins & start again & again untill you get exhausted. It seems easy but when you do it you will know that how difficult it is & how much strain you feel on your abdominal muscles. You can do it as many times you wish but till 45 mins after meal you are not supposed to do the exercise.

Have you asked for some honest other opinions? Sometimes when people worry about weight and body parts, they can look worse to themselves than they really are (mind sort of plays tricks - does not mean they are not thinking straight, just a bit overstressed about it). Have you talked to a doctor or health expert? Maybe you could find ways to increase lean muscle percentage a bit. Targetted exercise and the right diet, not just go exercising. Maybe you are at the higher end of your healthy weight range and could go down a bit, but I recommend some advice from experts so this is more likely to be effective and appropriate. Good luck.

try your BMI is a sturdy way. A well-known use of the BMI is to evaluate how plenty a guy or woman's bodyweight departs from what's generic or proper for a guy or woman of his or her top. the load extra or deficiency might, partly, be accounted for by using physique fat (adipose tissue) even although different components alongside with muscularity additionally impact BMI severely (see communicate decrease than and obese). The WHO[8] regard a BMI of decrease than 1c9f0f895fb98ab9159f51fd0297e236d.5 as underweight and can point out malnutrition, an eating sickness, or different well-being issues, whilst a BMI extra desirable than 25 is seen obese and above 30 is seen obese. those stages of BMI values are valid in straight forward terms as statistical categories whilst utilized to adults, and don't assume well-being. desire this might help u. :) Drink extra water is a sturdy way for each guy or woman

the fact that you have normal BMI doesnt mean you are fit, healthy and have lower body fat percentage than somebody whos BMI is suggesting he/she is overweight and are bigger size - athletes, bodybuilders, people who have a lot of muscle.
you need to lose fat and gain muscle.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.

you might have all your weight in FAT and not in muscles. do workout in cardio section of ur gym. run abt 3 km a day that'll get rid of ur fat n will make you "look" thin....
i lost 7 kgs in 2 months with diet and doing aerobix for abt 1 hr 15 mins a day.
start working out. if you have lotsa FAT you wont loose much of ur weight. it'll only improve your fitness...theres no harm in working out right!

Yeah. Work out. But sometimes the person thinks that she/he seems fat. If you really think you're fat. Then that is your problem.
