Are fish good bicyclists, what color is music?
Magic exists in a different world view than most Christianities. With the religious conquest of Europe, all non-orthodox world views were relegated to heresy and Inquisition (look up Avalon and Morgan le Fay). Magic (or magick) in most conventional Christianities is entirely contained as condemned. Consequently if you truly wish to do magic, magic healing, and magic protection, then you would need to expand your view.
"Good" and "evil" are human constructs. Look up abraxas in _Damian_ by Hermann Hesse. The world around us just is. For we humans, our task is making choices. What you intend, the means you use, and what you do determines whether good or ill.
A good start is doing your homework. Since you mentioned Christian, this explanation is for a Western perspective. Consider post-19th c. biblical scholarship. Much has been learned about meaning and context. Bishop John Shelby Spong is just one source to begin. Look up literary understanding, since much of Bible understanding and understanding of magic is about symbol, simile, allusion, metaphor. What you may be looking for is also known as metaphysical alchemy.
Look up magic and mental health science, since much of magic is effectively about perception and attitude.
Once you have some understanding about what "magic" is, beyond the hype, you can begin looking for it. Only a little in pop publication is not part of the hype.
Do you live near a big city? Look up groups and people who celebrate Irish or Celtic deep tradition. The names vary in Irish, Celtic, Gaelic; do a Wikipedia search, for a start. Find where celebrations of Samhain, Imbolc, Beltane, and Lughnassadh are held near you (solstices too). These are around 31 October, 1 February, 1 May, and 1 August, respectively, in the order of their traditional year. There you may find people who will be happy to help you.

the only difference is contained in the attitude of the guy describing it. Magic is magic. all of it comes from the comparable source. the comparable forces that are used to bless may be used to curse. i assume the main simplistic definition may be that all of it comes right down to reason, yet even that's no longer even on the factor of being precise. human beings spend far too plenty time niggling over black and white magic and not adequate actually doing some thing. A colleague of mine as quickly as reported, "the version between black and whit magic is that black magic is something that relatively achieves a effect, white magic is each little thing else." i like that description. Magic is. Use it. there is not any black or white, those are aritficial differences created by using those that have a might desire to experience morally extra desirable to others.

If it is not God doing the healing, then the only other thing that is doing the healing would be evil spirits. In Mark 16:17-18 is says, "These signs will follow those who believe, In my name, they will cast out devils, they will speak with new tounges, they shall take up serpents, and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them, the will lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." I have seen people healed when I lay hands on them in the name of Jesus, and it is not considered magic. magic is witchcraft, no matter what kind of magic it is. I guess you could call God magical, but that's not really the right word; he is all-powerful. If you get to know the Lord really well and are baptized with the Holy Ghost, if you believe, when you lay hands on people in the name of Jesus, things happen that are far from ordinary, things that many people never in there life get a chance to see. I know of a missionary in Indonesia who has seen fire come out ofthe sky and strike idols, he has even walked on water. My great grandmother raised her child from the dead in the name of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit. Believe on the Lord and be filled with the Holy Ghost, and you will see amazing things go on in your life.

There's no reason why you can't do magick, and you don't have to change your religion to do it. You don't have to be Pagan, or Wiccan, or Voudoun to practice some form of Magick. Every religion, just about, has some form of magick, though it's usually not considered "orthodox." Christian magick tends to make use of angels, saints, the name of Jesus, and the Trinity. Jewish and Christian magick both make use of Bible verses, particularly the Psalms. Muslim magick makes use of verses from the Koran. Any magickal system should be able to be adapted to be compatible with your religious beliefs -- you shouldn't have to change your religious beliefs to practice magick.
Now, Magick isn't exactly mainstream. Historically, it tended to be something done outside of any official church, hence the hostility towards it from mainstream and organized religion. People will try to tell you that it's wrong, that it's evil, and that evil spirits are trying to trick you. They'll quote the whole Bible at you, if you'll let them! But, the truth is, a lot of these books on Magick that we have from the Middle Ages were written by Christian monks.
Go into this study with an open mind and heart. You will find that it will deepen your spirituality, and bring you closer to your God.

As a Christian or not any magic is bad. If you open those doors you may not be able to shut them. Always remember, you are dealing with something that you can't control and if its spirals be ready for the worst. If you have kids or live with love ones, do them the favor and drop this idea all together. I would recommend picking up the Bible and start reading it fast!

If you wish to stay with Gods will stay away from any magic.
White magic is still of satin, it is trickery to pull you in.
Satin try's to pull people in by making something seem good. The only true healing comes from the Holy Spirit. nothing good can come from any other.
By messing around with this you will bring on spirits of evil.

The thing you need to worry about most is free will. Protecting someone against their will, or even healing them against their will, will get you into trouble. On the other hand you can do alot of great things. Look at it this way, there's no real way to tell the difference between good white magic and prayer, both have the same effect, and who knows? Perhaps both work the same way and may even be the same thing. Most effective (white) magic does not rely on you using your own power or that of spirits, but rather acting as a conduit and letting God or the divine work through you.

White magic - black magic - God calls it all witchcraft. If you really want to help others in healing etc, that is why the Holy Spirit is here. don't get involved with other spirits apart from Him. Jesus said that Satan can present himself as an angel of light so don't allow yourself to be deceived.

Is it really white. Why do they call it white? Is White good and Black bad. Is that what you are trying to say. Isn't that raciest. You are the evil spirit. The only magic is trickery. Magic don't heal.

Stop reading the fairy tales. There is no such thing as "good magic".
I was involved with sorcery for many years. The only group I ever met that could practice a holy form of magic wasn't taking applications (if they want you, they'll find you).
All magic that you will find available is dark magic, that's the end of it.
