Wow, a ninja question. I love it. Well, to start with, the 'Ninjas' were mountain tribes that taught unconventional warfare (special reconnaisance, sabotage, psychological warfare, assasination, direct action) to successive generations of their people, with games and related sports when they were younger and the actual stuff later. There were never that many and most of those had to go underground in the Tokugawa period (I think that's right) because they were a feature of the intrigue of Japan's feudal bickering, and once power was consolidated, they were unneccessary, as well as a threat. Remember, how they did business was completely opposed to the way the Samurai conducted themselves (openly, pitched battle, armor and the whole 'death before dishonor' thing) and the groups hated each other. What survives today is some schools and trinkets. Much of what made them so effective in the past is now considered normal in much of the world's militaries, especially the elite units. If true ninjas were to exist today in the same forms, they'd have taken sniper rifles to heart.

In all honesty Ninja's never really existed. It is a made up idea of Hollywood. There were clans in Japan called Yamabushi, which means mountain warriors. These people were from regions like Iga and Koga, which some BS Ninja groups now use to exploit people. There were also specially trained Samurai, much like special forces are specially trained Army, that had skills in information gathering and spying, but were still Samurai. A few people decided to join these groups together and BINGO, you have Ninja's. If you so desire you can visit a Ninja school in your area and they will be happy to remove your money from your wallet and make many far flung claims, but the facts outside of their history books is they didn't exist, save for the groups mentioned above and those were not ever called Ninja's. Lol.

Look first you have to know what ninjas were to know if they still "exist". Ninjas similar to Samaria were an elite force placed into existence to serve the emperor and other royals orders. The ninja unlike the Samaria could almost guarantee success because unlike the Samaria could fight without "honor". After certain events in japan (that I don't know because I don't study Japanese history) the government removed themselves from ninjas, and ninjas became for hire assassins, and other types of shifty things.
So are you asking if there are still people getting paid to steal, and kill for money, then YES. Do they call themselves ninjas, probably not.
The closest thing to a "modern ninja" would be snipers or elite force of the military. Go in undetected, complete a mission, and get out before the enemy knows what happened. Do this all for your government.
There are many who claim to study ninjistsu, whether or not their lineage is true I'm not going to debate (like I said I don't know enough about the subject), but I doubt they go around town stealing and killing people for money.

As far as ninjas who are killers for hire, no, they do not exist like that anymore.
However, ninjitsu is still a very practiced art. It's actually more like a religion. Most people who practice it won't fully divulge the things they do, or the things they've seen. Moreover, family members don't see them very often.
To be a ninja, in our modern day, simply means an obscure life full of the rituals of being a ninja. It's not really a job, but more of a full-time observance.
Ninjas can accomplish some supernatural feats, but they are by no means immortal. Don't believe every movie you see.
In medieval Japan, sometimes ninjas who snuck into castles to assassinate someone would be cornered and killed by samurai guards, who were just soldiers with no supernatural practices. Ninjas are still humans.

Nope, ninjas like samurais faded into obscurity after the industrial revolution, modern technology made their skills useless, thereby making their existence obsolete. When geeks behind computer monitors can spy on someone a hundred miles away undetected and collect data at a punch of a keyboard or destroy an army simply by pushing a button, it's kinda hard for a ninja to compete.

I seriously don't know for sure, but I'd say it's safe to say no. Ninjas killed people. There are probably families still and such of the the like that maybe perhaps still teach karate to the younger generations though.

Well the art of Ninjutsu is very rare now a-days. I wouldn't say there are really Ninjas still around, but there are people who still study that art.
