My parents are very rich. They are always buying me expensive things that I really do not want - horses, cars, jewellry etc. They seem to think that this is all they have to do to show their love. I would much rather we spent time together - just going out for a picnic or going for a walk. Do you think they love me? If not what should I do to win their love again?

I keep telling them not to buy me things but they don't listen. I keep asking them to spend time with me but they don't seem to care.

Sometimes parents have strange ways of showing love. Some believe that giving gifts will replace hugs and kisses and intimate talks. So it is up to you to change the situation. Ask one, or both parents if you can talk with them. Now. Then tell them you would like to have more conversations, would like more hugging and kissing, more intimacy. Tell them you feel lonely in your own home, that you wish they could spend more time with you, that the three of you could do something together. Finally, suggest to them that the entire family go to family therapy/counseling. That should get their attention. And, believe me, it will work. Good luck.

Yes, I am sure that they love you. They seem to be more wrapped up in them selves at this time. If you have all ready tried talking do not bother to try that again. Sit down and write a letter, in length explaining to them how you feel inside and how they are making you feel. Mail the letter to them that way they will read the letter when it is received. Then after they read the letter they will know and more then likely confront you about it and at that time you will be able to sit and talk to them. Good Luck and keep your head held high! I'm sure they do, but maybe they have difficulty expressing it emotionally. Compromise, say you want to go shopping w/ them for the gifts they buy and use the time to talk w/ them about anything. Donate any gifts you don't need/want to a charity. Or return to the stores. Start w/ baby steps and let them get used to having conversations and spending time together. Soon it will be 2nd nature and looked forward too.

I would say Yes, they do love u! Mayb they r just 2 busy. But... as a parents they should have a break 2 spent time with u! Just b patience. And u know wat u need 2 b proud that u still have a parents. I know that... they do listen 2u, they just don't have time, so they just showing u how much u realy mean to them, by buying u some expensive stuffs.

Of course they do. They are just to busy with their own selves to realize how much you need them.
Believe me if something bad (g-d forbid) ever happened to you be it an accident, or illness they would be there for you 24/7. Unfortunately they need a wake up call.
Do you have a pastor, rabbi, uncle, aunt, or anyone that they respect to talk to. Tell them exactly what you wrote, and maybe they can help your parents understand how desperately you need time together with them.
Just by the title of your name "ugly girl" shows how lonely and unhappy you are.. My heart goes out to you. Again, know they do love you, they need to be educated on how badly they are hurting you.

hi im mini i'll tell u somethin & that is vry less parents don't love their kids & that2 due 2 some reason,ur parents luv u & thats why they bring u things may b they r not able 2 give u time bcoz of their work or some problem that they r facing & can't tell u.so acc. 2 me if u talk 2 them calmly & try 2 be friendly with them,give them what they desire from u they'll surely luv u more & spend time with u. nowadays due 2 high expenditure we need comparitively more money than bfore & hence parents r more busy bcoz they need 2 c thre kids on top of the world.b happy.

They love you it just they show it in a materialistic way.Ask them if all of you could have dinner together or to the park Or out sailing the boat Just the family Think of creative ways to get them together like pizza night out or movie night at home

If this is for real then yes, they love you - but maybe you need to stop being a spoiled little rich chick and TALK to them. Tell them that you want to go for a picnic or a walk - I am sure they would be releaved that you're not hitting them up for money!
Act like an adult and tell them what you need from them - how else will they know?

They do love you. Just keep trying to talk to them about it. When they were growing up maybe their parents did the same thing, so they don’t know any better.

hang out with other family members that do things that you really enjoy..do you have aunts uncles.grandparents?? hang with the relatives that bring you joy..and perhaps eventually go and live with them..and get your parents to pay for everything..then you willl have the best of both worlds..do not try to win their love..they do not want your love..obviously...
