i had a prob with an ebay user. i bidded on his van instead of bidding on another van. i asked him nicely if he would cancel my bid but he said i'll get outbid on last day anyway. i couldnt wait to last day as i wanted to bid on another van that was ending soon but ebay wouldnt let me bid on it because my high bid on the other van i accedetly put on. he was very rude and knowing i wanted to bid on another van he wouldnt cancel my bid.

so from lots of help from you all i go by bid retracted. ever since then hes been giving me grief sending me messages quite rude and insulting. ive kindly sent him one back as a buyer and seller on cars myslf to forget about the bid and to stop sending me messages. he wont leave it and im getting constant messages from him saying hes putting a bad word around ebay for me. ive asked him where so i can defend myself and hes being childish.

i have tried not to respond to his messages but im getting really fed up and keep telling him to leave me alone

what im asking is how can i get him to leave me alone? can i report him to ebay or something? also where do you think he's been talking about me so i can defend myself as i dont know what being said about me and as he knows why the mistake of me bidding on his van occured, i know he wont be mentioning that in his bad words as anyone would understand if he put that in. i need this man to leave me alone. its like he wants the arguement as if i dont answer back he'll call me all sorts of names until im seeing red and have to message him to leave me alone. this man is childish and dont know what to do.

i want to get the message across to other buyers about this behaviour incase anyone else makes a mistake and get this grief

Your best bet is to ignore him. He can personally tell everyone he knows that you're a bad bidder but it will only be a drop in the ocean in relation to the millions of eBay users. Really, it's a non-issue.
As far as harassing you yes, by all means forward the mail to security@ebay.com .
Sure, it's undesirable to retract a bid but it is allowed. You will have that bid retraction on your feedback page for something like 6 months so that's bad enough without him being a jerk about it.

Again, don't let it bother you. Forward then delete the mail & go on about your business. He will tire soon I guarantee.

This is so simple, Forward copies of his emails (including the headers from the properties) to eBay and the problems will end. Just click on the email properties and cut and paste the entire page. Ebay takes a dim view of this sort of action from a seller.

Copy the item ID# first. click on the link beside history on the page that has the item you bid on. it will be under the area where you enter your bid. Then at the bottom, you will see a blue link that says retract your bid. click on it. scroll to the bottom and you will see a blue link that says Bid Retraction. click on it. enter your item # that you copied earlier and enter a reason (just pick any) for retracting your bid. click retract bid. your bid is cancelled

Your going to have to sick E-Bay on him. Go to your home page and check the dispute section. It will tell you how to handle it. Buy the way you can cancel your own bids, you don't have to ask the person to do it for you.

You do realize that you have brought this on yourself.

1. Just ignore the messages. There's no law that says you have to even read them. Every time you whine "Leave me alone!" you just wind him up for more abuse. JUST IGNORE THE CLOT.

2. DON'T BID UNLESS YOU'RE READY TO BUY!
