"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Matthew 6:19-21
Jesus said by this verse that it is possible to store up treasures in heaven. I believe that everything we do in this life in faith and love for Jesus' sake and the sake of the Kingdom of God is storing up eternal treasures for us in heaven.
Really, when you look around you, the only things in this world that are going to endure forever are the souls of the people you know.

No, you are not correct. I have seen it.
The opposite of love is selfishness or self-centeredness. What you take with you when you die is a bare soul. God decides the rest.

No one takes anything when he dies.
Yet, he leaves to his friends and family, memories and feelings of love and in some cases (rare I hope..) hate.
