Remember that God will forgive even the worst of sin ... but sinning intentionally with the mind set that you will be forgiven isn't the way to go ...

Don't go looking for loopholes ... just trust in your faith and do your best to be a good person. You'll slip up every now and then, but God will be there to forgive you.

The Apostle Paul answered a very similar question in Romans 6:1-2, "What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?" The idea that a person could trust in Jesus Christ for salvation and then go on living just as he/she lived before - is absolutely foreign to the Bible. Believers in Christ are new creations (2 Corinthians 5:17). The Holy Spirit changes us from producing the acts of the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21), to producing the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). The Christian life is a changed life.

It is not how many sins you commit, but your mindset. There is a big difference between viewing your sins as enemies you are striving to overcome and viewing them as old friends you are reluctant to let go. God knows when you're pretending. Repentance involves more than just a change in behavior. It involves a change of heart, to the point where you no longer desire to sin. This doesn't mean that you will never sin again...that's impossible, but it does mean that you will continue to strive to do the very best that you CAN. Being under "Grace" is not a license for sin. For that which we are overcome by, the same we are brought into bondage...whether sin unto death or righteousness unto everlasting life.

No one "gets away" with ill thought out decisions ("sins" if you must call them that) ... yet all will eventually return to the Kingdom of Heaven from whence they came. You will reap what you sow, and take as long as you like, toiling on the physical plane, but when you've been knocked around long enough, eventually you will "see the light" and begin to make correct decisions so that you can return home.

Rock on, Mama.

I think the way it works is that you have to ask for forgiveness before you die so you don't go to down below. I was raised catholic so what I was taught is that God can tell what your true intentions are in your heart.

I think there's a difference between lieing and killing. I think killers and rapist will go straight down below. So if you purposely lead a life of sin thinking that you will get a get out of jail card in the end, he will know. So if that's where you are at as a person you might purchase some hip weighters for your trip down below.

There is more than one answer to this question, and it is a complex question. One answer to this is NONE: because you can not 'get away with' any sin. Psalms says "where can I go in heaven or earth to hide from you Oh, God? If I go to the uttermost parts, of the earth you are there. Even if I make my bed in the lowest parts of hell, you know it." You can't get away with any sin, but you can be forgiven it and it can be then covered by Jesus' atoning blood. Another answer to the question you're asking is: you can be forgiven any sin you are willing to repent of (turn away from and be willing to cease). Only repented from sin is sin that can be covered by grace. But the question is more complex because God is full of mercy and grace and you are asking to know how we can measure if we'll be covered by grace when we sin. Paul answered correctly when he said, "Should we sin so that grace can abound?!? God forbid!!!" God is like any parent because He is willing to forgive and forgive abundantly. However, there is a point where a parent reaches their limit and says "Enough" and the consequences happen. But that doesn't mean that the consequences are without love! God says He is not willing that anyone should perish, but that all should come to repentance! He wants us to choose to change our ways. But that is up to us. The best thing that we can do then is never try to find out where the patience and mercy of God ends and wrath begins. Just the same as with our parents. In the bible it says, "Wherever possible live at peace with all men." With God it is the same. It is wisest to live at peace with God. Then there is no worry about going to heaven. Paul counsels, "Therefore brethren do everything to make your calling and election (your choosing by God) SURE." The third answer to this question ties with the others, and it's this: Your conscience within you is your measurer as to whether or not you are in jeopardy with God and mankind. The bible says that He has put his spirit within us guaranteeing what is to come." That means we know which direction we are heading for: Peace or trouble. That is the whole purpose of our conscience: to be a moral compass to point us back to the center of the path. Jesus Himself said, "narrow is the path to life and there are few that walk on it", but that is where He wants us to constantly steer ourselves back toward if we feel ourselves drifting - because it's the place of safety: the place of good moral character and integrity in our behavior, with our eyes on being a good citizen of heaven and a good citizen of earth. It is the most lovely gift God gave us, a knowledge within ourselves if we are doing well. And if we are not doing well, we feel as David did in the Psalms, and we find our spirits are troubled within us. But there is no greater confidence, happiness or joy than to know we have done well and chosen what's right. Even if no one else knows it, our conscience rests within us washed in purity, which is the truest form of freedom.

You can't get away with sin and go to Heaven. God wants his children to be perfect. For those times that we are not, He forgives us if we ask truly. If you are forgiven, you are in His grace and you go to Heaven. If you do not repent, you turn away from Him and are alone. When you sin on a daily basis, you need to ask for forgiveness on a daily basis. You know them by their fruits, if their fruits are not true, they have no faith, as faith without works is dead. Your works are a result of your faith and the grace of God's forgiveness. When you have a clear conscience and spirit, you can again do God's will and turn away from sin, in the clear path of Heaven once again, as always, for His beloved children.

Tommorrow is promised to no man. Trying to find out how much sin you can do is like gambling with your life. The scriptures says "Do not tempt the Lord thy God". Also, "All those who call on the Name of Jesus Christ must depart from iniquity".
