That is a very good question. Do you happen to interpret prophecy from a historicist perspective? Would you happen to be SDA or free presbyterian?
I wrote an essay a while back going over the idea of the Catholic Church being the antichrist. I'm a little more open to possibilities than I was then, but there's still some interesting info to ponder. I never officially published it, but it is hidden on my site...

The manmade doctrine and false patriarchal hierarchy of the Catholic System.
Other than that, Roman Catholic Church has MOST of the spiritual truth correct. The only trouble is the good stuff is for the good ole boys up top instead of the masses, the "flock". Read the Bible for yourselves in light of the Catholic interpretation of spiritual truth and scientific truth, and know who you are as children of God. This is the root message of the Catholic Church, but you need to find it for yourselves.

Any "nerd" would recognize the fallacy caused by the semantic difference between the uses of the word ugly to describe those two things, you are just a dork posing as a "nerd".

I will say this. Luther had good intentions. He almost got it right. The Catholic system is uglier than cannibalism.
