At the beggining of march I stopped drinking soda and only drank water or 0 calorie drinks. I averaged 600 calories a day in soda alone and I lost 5 pounds. The typical can of soda has 150 calories in it. There are 3500 calories in a pound. See how much pop you drink on a daily basis times that by 30 or 31 depending on the month and then divide by 3500 and that is how much weight you will lose(:

Crystal Light is a low calorie water additive that some people I know swear by. Additionally, there are certain flavored waters available almost anywhere that provide great flavor with only a few calories.
Either would be comparable to the Popsicle water you tasted before.

Good for you. Soda, with all of its sugar, is not the most healthy refreshment around.
There are some bottled water companies that put flavors in their water. You could try one of those.
There are some natural fruit juices that are good. They have sugar as well, so you need to watch the quantity.
A very health drink is V-8. Very heart friendly too.

Fruit 2 O is just like water only fruit flavored. Look for juices (crystal light, etc) that you like but watch the sugar content.
Don't fall for the diet soda myth, the artificial sweeteners in diet soda can actually cause you to gain weight, not lose weight.
Water really is the best beverage for you to drink, just don't drink it too fast, or you can get water intoxication.
Tea, especially green tea is very good for you also.

I like the green tea to go things that you add to bottled water. Zingers and Lipton make them I believe. There are lots of diet soda's out there just be careful what you buy. Several studies have shown Aspartame that is in most diet soda's slow the metabolism. I try to pick splenda based diet soda's, but now I've mostly moved to green/white tea. If you add just one teaspoon of sugar its only 15 calories.

Iced tea is usually a very low calorie drink. Diet Coke is also very low in calories, 200mL of Diet Coke is only around 3 calories!
