sit down and put your head to your knees and take deep breaths in a paper bag. watch tv for a while then return to studying. you need to relax your mind.

well alcohol does not mix well with anxiety anyway; it will increase symptoms. If you have pain and burning in your chest have you tried an antacid? Zantac? Get out a piece of papaer and start writing about what your feeling anxious about. Confronting your feelings and dealing with them is what will help them to go away. You can also try focusing your mind. Pick a favorite scene/place/thing to think about. Love to go to the ocean? Close your eyes, now start to picture everything in that scene, down to the smallest grain of sand, imagine the smells and the sounds, and imagine that you are happy and enjoying yourself. If your mind starts to wander pull yourself back...continue to focus until you feel lost in your fantasy. You also could try fantasizing about passing your test. Think about you studying and OMG this material has just somehow clicked for you and you are soaking it up like a sponge and when you sit down to take your test you feel powerful because each question you read you know the answer...really know the answer. You finish rather quickly and feel a bit guilty for the others who look as though they are struggling...but you smile because you worked hard and you earned that empowered feeling...then envision yourself getting your paper back with a large red A on it with an extra comment that says excellent work.
Sometimes we have to remember to give ourselves positive self talk...we all seem to be able to do the negative; practice positive self talk and at some point you may actually start to believe it. You could also try some light exercise. Exercise has been proven to improve mood and is used in conjunction with therapy in mental hospitals. (have you ever noticed when you have had an active day you feel rejuvinated as opposed to when you lay around?) I hope you can use some of these suggestions and hope you feel better. Definately see your doctor ( i can't see your avitar right now so I don't know if you're female or not, but females heart attack can present itself in non typical ways) I don't know your age, health history, etc... but that is always a possibility. If you have had this episode before and have previously been told it is anxiety then go to get some antianxiety meds. There are great medications out there, so there is no good reason for you to suffer. Of course you should always try non pharmacologic remedies first. Good Luck.

If you have a bath tub draw yourself a hot bath and soak in the tub, if you have a shower soak in the shower. Being in the hot water will help your body relax it's muscles and give you some time to relax. Try meditation. You can lay on your bed in a comfortable position with some soft music on and try relaxing by clearing your mind. Put a cool wet wash cloth on your face or an ice pack on your head, that also helps with relaxing your body, the tension in your head. If you have thoughts that come through your mind, just let them drift in and out.

If you cannot relax you may need to go in to the ER in order for them to give you some medication to ease the anxiety. Do what is best for you, think of what is and is not working for you and if it doesn't go away you can always go to the ER at anytime.

M-k... -Try THIS; Put your books away for an hour or so- close your eyes & "zone out" in a darkend room, listening to to your favorite music on headphones. Think about NOTHING (except maybe your favorite fantasy :) ), and forget everything. I'll bet you'll feel at least a LITTLE better- when you're done. :)

Masturbate in a hot bath. or. just relax taking a hot bath. Not tub? try it in the shower. dont wanna masturbate, fill the tub with cold water dunk your self in, stay for 5 minutes and you'll be ready. Unless you're a chicken ****, then just stick to the masturbating thing.

take a shower. that always helps. if not just do something that you really like, you have to immerse yourself into something totally different so as to not think about whatever is causing your anxiety.
