You're only poor because you have not tapped into the wisdom of God to make you successful. The reason some Christians are poor all of their life is because they have a problem with prosperity and won't listen to God. God does not want us to be poor. He wants us to be successful and wealthy so we can finance His kingdom work and do good unto others in the world. It's hard to take the gospel to the nations if you are making 6.25 an hours with all your bills. If you set your hearts desire to do God's will and pursue after seeing souls saved, then the wealth of God will follow you. That's what Solomon did and look what happened to him. As for those who say Jesus was poor. That's not true. Remember, He had a treasurer, Judas (eventhough he stole the money at times). Most people misunderstand the scripture when it says Jesus became poor that we might become rich. By leaving heaven and coming down to live with us, that's like leaving the penthouse to come and live in the ghetto.

I am poor too. I think I have a few coins left.
Here are some scriptures.
Acts 4:32 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. 33 With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God's grace was so powerfully at work in them all 34 that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales 35 and put it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.
36 Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas (which means "son of encouragement"), 37 sold a field he owned and brought the money and put it at the apostles' feet.
Psalms 37:21 The wicked borrow and do not repay,
but the righteous give generously;
22 those the LORD blesses will inherit the land,
but those he curses will be destroyed.
23 The LORD makes firm the steps
of those who delight in him;
24 though they stumble, they will not fall,
for the LORD upholds them with his hand.
25 I was young and now I am old,
yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken
or their children begging bread.
26 They are always generous and lend freely;
their children will be a blessing.
There are greater riches than money. In fact, money is a guilt-sharing mechanism, I think. It's a way for the murderous elements of society to let people think that they (the bullies) won't hurt them and will even let them have access to some of the resources, so long as they (the rest) are willing to play the game like good little boys and girls.
Are there any agencies near you who give food away?
Remember that nobody knows what tomorrow will bring. James 4:14 - we are but a mist.

This is a very good question, if not the best i've seen.
This reminds me of when Jesus said "You will always have the poor with you."(Mt 26:11) And he was right. From when he said it until now people have been afflicted with poverty. Some people believe that people become poor because they make bad decisions. That may be true in some cases. But not all people are poor as a result of their own bad judgment.
Many have lost jobs because of changing industry. Many working people have seen their life savings consumed by skyrocketing medical costs. And of the hundreds of millions impoverished people in the developing world, most are poor through no fault of their own. The causes of poverty are often beyond the control of it’s victims.
There are answers in the bible but I'm winding down for tonight. If you're interested, email me. And I will continue.

Is it Jesus' fault that you are poor? Did He deny you opportunities for wealth and prosperity, or was it due to your own circumstances that you had control over? I too have been poor. Some of it was due to circumstance of which I had absolutely no control over, and some due to my own foolishness. Thankfully, I've learned from the past and while I'm no longer poor, I'm not rich either. Not by a long shot. Still, a person can be rich, even while being materially poor. A person can be poor while being materially rich. Jesus is concerned with our hearts - not our riches. To some, He will bless with material wealth. To others, He will bless in other ways. As long as we trust Him to know what is in our best interest and are thankful for His wisdom, then we can have joy, whether we are materially rich or poor. Sometimes, God waits to bless us materially until He knows we can handle such blessings with wisdom. Other times, He knows we can handle it, but it's not what He wants for us. God has a reason for everything, and He often uses our circumstances to bless and help others. Many rich people have a harder time relating to those who are poor and are far more likely to pass judgment on those who are poor because they haven't walked in their shoes. At least for the time being, you have an advantage over rich folks because you have an understanding of those who are poor in a much more relatable way than many rich people have. Trust God. Put your faith in Him and thank Him for what you DO have. You may find that you are richer than you think.
God bless you!!

What in the world does poor have to do with love? Do you only love the rich? Jesus watches us and guides us and we all have the opportunity to be good or evil but circumstance is a part of the free will of your ancestors-and if you wish to be rich then the only thing to do is go to school learn get scholarships and rock the world with what you know-be creative and ou will do fine-Jesus may have given you more imagination and creativity than a lot of rich epople and you may end up richer than them -good luck-and asking a question is the first step in knowing it all

What does Jesus loving you have to do with it.
People consider me poor as I earn about 10,000 dlls a year, but I have everything that I need and I always have something to eat. I don't consider myself poor but others do.
When my wife had to have an operation some extra money came to us so she could have her treatment. I think that I am just fine and never miss a meal..
