The question reveals your true self. What kind of person are you? What if they are right? The question should be if I died today what would I have to say for myself?
I am not perfect so I know that I need God's mercy and grace or I will reap the consequences of my mistakes. That is why I believe because I know I cannot do it by myself, I need God and need to know there is someone out there outside myself to depend upon completely because I can, have and will at times fail to be the person I hope to be.
Blessings.

I used to have the same fear as you after being in a cult that claimed that theirs was definitely real. They sucked me in big time. I stayed away from religion for a long time after that but would go back and do some research every now and then.
I am now at peace and I personally believe now that all religion is man made and therefore not real. A documentary called "What The Bleep Down The Rabbit Hole" really helped me further in getting over my fear.

Some do, some people sadly use a religion as a means of control. It's hard to believe that any one religion is perfect. Nobody will ever be perfect, but it's the trying to be good that counts. Try to find God with your heart.

Well, you obviously ought to consider this because annihilation in the flames of hell wouldn't be tremendously fun. Not to mention the fact that a relationship with God makes life a lot more enjoyable, despite what all my druggie friends say.

Depends on the religion. Not all religions believe that unbelievers go to Hell.

You already know Hell is not true, so why torture yourself. Religion brings hell to the living by causing so much confusion, insecurity and hatred.

I get angry just thinking about the power of intimidation of insecure people. I refuse to say I believe what I don't believe, I refuse to live in fear. Try it, it feels good to have that burden off your back.

Yes, there is a such thing as heaven and hell.
Your pass to heaven is to believe and trust in the Lord, Jesus Christ.
As you can see the time of ending can happen soon.
Global warmings, politics, rape, brothers killing each other, famine, corruption, and etc.
You may never know...
One day you wake up in hell, where fire is burning through your flesh and you beg God to get you out of that hell.
Thats your eternal punishment.
How do you start to belive in Christ?
Read the bible.
and give a sunday morning service a try.
Also, pray..
pray pray pray
prayer is the key..

Don't worry about it. There were these letters written by one of the writers of the new testament that says even people who go to hell wont stay there for eternity. But the church didn't like this mans opinions so they declared these letters not fit to be included in the bible.
