I agree Marciano would take Joe out, but I don't think it would take 15, and the reason is Joe would be in Marciano's face the whole fight. Joe's own aggressiveness and heart would be his downfall, Frazier never backed up against anyone, and Joe, like everyone else would have underestimated Marciano's chin. Rocky's power was acknowledged and respected, but the secret to his success was his ability to absorb more punishment that he dished out. This one would have been a savage collision of two unstoppable forces, and Joe would have been stopped because Rock's chin was better than Joe's. Great fight.

Marciano by KO in 10

Frazier was bigger and faster. He bobbed his head a lot. Marciano cut a bit easier than Joe. Joe could also jab as seen in the Quarry fights. I don't think Marciano 187lbs would be able to push Frazier 207 lbs back as he did with other opponents He had had a very underrated right hand. It was underrated mainly because his left was so good. Marciano had been floored, cut and staggered by older fighters that did not weigh as much or hit as hard as Frazier. If Frazier fought Marciano's opponents he would be 49-0 and if Marciano fought Frazier's have at least two losses-- to Ali and Foreman. I go with Frazier with a 7th round stoppage.

I saw both fighters throughout their careers.
Rocky, like Joe Louis, was immensely strong but a light-heavyweight. Joe Frazier wasn't that large either and not much of an athlete; Frazier did have a very fine left hook, was able to pick off punches and kept his cool in the ring well--he was always in good shape.

But he was very vulnerable to a right hook--as he showed when George Foreman beat him easily by knockout.
So I'd have to go with Marciano by a knockout in less than eight rounds. His crouching style and strength would have allowed him to get inside on Frazier; and between body shots and his right, I think he would have been able to avoid left hoooks long enough to wear Frazier down fairly easily.

I don't think this fight would reach 10 rounds. I would love to see this match-up. Both were powerful punchers who had talent. I'd say both men would be equal in power. Marciano would have an edge in chin, and Frazier would have the edge in stamina.
I see the early rounds to be wild and action-packed. These two fighters were like bulls in the ring, and that's why this fight won't make it to 10 rounds. In the middle rounds the action would start to settle down. Eventually, Marciano would catch Frazier flush on the chin with a straigh right; hence, Marciano by a 9th round knockout.

It's a good match-up in terms of size, skill and fighting style but I'd say Joe Frazier would win by TKO in the 8th. Marciano was too onion-skinned and was very prone to cuts. He always bled too easily whenever he fights. Frazier would surely cut him open beginning the 5th or 6th and go on to win by stoppage.

I say Rocky too. because they are two diferent types of fighter.
Or should I say were. Rocky would probably go for the long distance fight and frazier close and tight with body punches.
But then Rocky had a non chalant type of approach, sneaky at best. If frazier went close Rocky would have gone to the body. Rocky had hands of steel. Probably injuries who knows

I would say Frazier. I don't give Rocky a chance against any of the great fighters in the 70's or the 90's. He made his outro at the right time.

Frazier by dec. He was bigger and faster than Rocky. Charles, Walcott and Moore- all ancient and past their primes- each gave Rocky hell and busted him up. A prime Joe Frazier would have given him a lot worse. It would resemble Frazier/Bonavena in a lot of ways, but Oscar was bigger and stronger than Rocky(and had a big wallop as well).

Agree with LoiHo5. Early in his career Frazier may have lasted 15 and maybe gets a decision. Late in career facing Foreman, Frazier couldn't get away from the harder puncher.

I think Marciano would have KOd him sooner than that. Frazier could not avoid a punch very well, and, unlike Ali, Marciano could punch.
