If your familes are close then he must know that you arent some random girl he can take advantage of. My guess is that if he is flirting with you then he must like you. I mean he is risking embarassing the entire family, right? Althought there are players in clubs, etc., not every guy is untrusting. Does he seem to be a player? If he seems genuine then in this case he probably is...

Its possible, someone who is close by means he doesnt have to bother going out and flirting. He could be legitimate, dont belive all the rumors about all guys having a brain in their *ahem*.
You dont flirt without a reason, its just a matter of working it out.

There is something known as body language that is reading a person with his gestures, his looks etc all these would reveal more than what he states and based on this you would get your answer. Regarding a guy using you it could happen because the age is such and romatic passions override sanity.

Sad but true. guys do this so much,that it's hard to trust any of them. i had it happen to me before. i think he probably feels more comfortable with someone that isn't so close to his family only because if he breaks up with you/cheats on you/lies to you they can't tell his family.
