find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.

At this age, you don't need to worry about weight too much--you're probably still losing baby fat. Still, it pays to be aware of what you're eating. My advice is to limit your beverages to milk and water and to limit yourself to one dessert or snack item a day. Remember not to go overboard, because your body is still growing and developing! Never skip meals, especially breakfast (people who eat breakfast statistically weigh less than people who skip it).

Some belly-toning exercises you can try are these: lie on your back, knees bent, hands behind your head, and do sit ups. Another is to lie on your back, knees bent, hands resting flat on your belly, and lift your feet a few inches off the floor. Finally, sit with your back straight in a hard chair and hold your stomach in for about 10 seconds, then release. Start by doing each of these 5 times in a day, then work yourself up by 5's until you're doing about 20 or 30 in a day.

You're 12 years old and you're thinking of going on a diet? The things the media's done to our society today.

Don't starve yourself. If you starve yourself, your body's just going to hold onto that fat because your body thinks that you're not getting a regular supply of energy.

Do more exercises, cardiovascular such as running or playing a sport.

Cut down on the unhealthy food, and watch the stomach go away.

Eat more protein. Lots of chicken. It helps to get rid of the belly.
