Richard Dawkins is a pretty straightforward scientist. I've only read a little of 'The God Delusion' and it seems to not be a hateful book and I'm easily offended so I would trust another book authored by him. Of course, no one will stop you from going into a book store and reading a little of it before you decide to purchase.

Haven't read, so I can't comment beyond the fact that Dawkins is an eloquent atheist. If you want a clear look at atheist teachings, he's probably a good place to start.

Warning, though! If you are not strongly, methodically logical, it is easy to be deceived by such teaching. I suspect though, that if you have the Spirit of God and are walking closely with Him, you will see right through it. For a fair critique of some of his writings, check out Lee Strobel's works. NOTE: I am not opposed to science, just twisting it in order to forward a philosophical commitment to materialism.

I have not read it, but I have read several others by Dawkins and can highly recommend all of them. Dawkins is brilliant, and Simonyi could have hardly done better than to endow Dawkins' chair.

It is possibly the greatest book on science written in the last fifty years.

Dawkins won numerous awards for it and it was made into a TV show.

Yes! It's a fantastic book. Definitely worth a read. I also recommend "Why People Believe Weird Things" by Michael Shermer.

I can only assume so. I haven't read it, but I have read another book by him, called "The God Delusion," which wasn't bad.
