my parents are looking to buy a second home (for vacation)
it was all good at first until i realized i dont like my room, this new house would shrink our monthly budget to about 1500 for monthly expenses. i found this really cute bed in a catalog, but it costs around 1600$ we havnt bought the house yet. this is our 7th attempt at putting an offer in on a house, but ultimately, my parents are procrastonators, so we lost the 6+ before this so, it isnt very likely that we will actually place an offer in this place. so, i want to re do my room and buy a house, i already tried for my craftsman grandpa to build me a bed like the one i want but my parents say it wont be the right quality, but they still wont let me have the one i want from the catalog!

Here's a thought -- how about if you take the photo over to your Grandparent's home, and with your grandfather, go to a bedding shop and get the measurements for the size of bed that you want (general measurements for bedrails, the footboard and headboard, etc). Then ... as a SPECIAL BONDING TIME with your Grandfather ...

Go out to his workshop, and yes, work with him with the tools, the drawings, the saws, etc (always following safety rules and wearing the safety gear), and yes ....

MAKE The bed with your grandfather -- stain the wood, put the hardware in, and yes, then you will have the PRIDE of Craftsmanship at a FRACTION of the cost of the bed from the catalogue!

Get a job and buy what you want your self.

I started working around 15yo so i didn't have to ask my parents whenever i wanted something. It will give you more responsibility and make you more independent

It's a holiday home, not somewhere you will permanently live, get over it, some people don't even have one bed, or one place to live.
