If you don't know, then you shouldn't breed! Duh!
Get glass slides and a microscope. You should do a vaginal smear and evaluate the cells to determine when to breed. I wouldn't trust a vet to do it unless the vet is a repro specialist.
To the first answer - dead wrong.
To the second answer - some dogs always breed at the 11th day, some are much later. Counting days is a very crude estimate resulting in many breedings that don't "take." Plus, if the female is not checked for season daily, it's fairly impossible to determine the first day of heat. Most people start counting about days late.

Puss filled uterus. Sounds like fun for your Husky.

Husky can be a very difficult breeed not for the novice. This is why so many beautiful animals end up in shleters and you obviously don't know enough to breed her. Go spend the thousands at the vet like a semi decnt breeder that acts like they care. Yahoo is not the place for these questions. Ask a professional.

Course you aren't interested in hearing negative answers cause you know you aren't doing the right thing..
If you don't know what day to breed the dog, then you are going to be asking
How do I know my dog is pregnant?
Is my dog in labour?
How come she had 1 puppy and now she is acting stressed?
How can I pull out a dead puppy, I don't want to go to the vet, cause I can't afford to pay him?
How old do puppies have to be before I can get rid of them?
How can I find homes for these puppies?
Anyone want a free puppy?
It's the way these things typical go...
Edit: buterfly_2_lovely is right... Watch for the cornifying cells.. Once she is ready, then you can go ahead and breed her, only have to do it once that way...
Edit: I can definately read.. But much like you not caring about the dogs in shelters, and the pet over population problem... I don't care if you want to hear a negative answer or not.. Sorry.. Am I being selfish.. I don't think so.. Are you?? I would tend to believe that you are.. If you want a second dog, spay yours and adopt and save one from the shelter.. I doubt your b*tch is breeding quality, or has anything at all to add to the breed. Given that you sound as tho you would breed to anything that could produce puppies for you.. I can't imagine that your b*tch is even registered, let alone of any quality at all.. Of course she is sweet and nice.. but is that all??

If you're not interested in hearing peoples' opinions on breeding your dog, then you should do the research yourself. Go to the library and get some books, go to your vet and ask tons of questions, meet other breeders who breed Huskies and ask them what you need to do. There should be no reason to ask random people on the internet how to breed your dog. Stop being lazy and learn things yourself.
Don't ask people who have the best interest of the dogs in mind if you don't want to hear what is in the best interest of dogs.

Usually about the 9th to 11th day after the cycle starts is when the female will accept the male. Hopefully you know a breeder or someone with an experienced stud dog because sometimes the female will reject all suitors. If she accepts him I would let them breed at least twice just to make sure. Good luck and have fun with the pups!

they are most receptive at 9 to 13 days into the heat cycle. There is test strip you can obtain from your local vet.

of course you dont want negative answers nobody who is doing something irresponsibly wants to hear that they are doing so.....IF YOU DONT KNOW YOU SHOULDNT BE DOING IT!!!! this is LIFE your dealing with, ANIMALS life, not just somethign to pass you & your familys fancy
grow up & be responsible if you REALLY & truely wanted to breed your dog the PROPER way you would research it & go to a PROFESSIONAL BREEDER & have them take care of the messy details so you dont ahve to be bothered to do it properly yourself!!! either take the time to DO IT PROPERLY for the right reasons or leave it to those who will

I'm sure these dogs http://www.brightlion.com/InHope/InHope_en.aspx
and countless others would appreciate your selfishness.
Do you have any idea how many of the dogs and cats in shelters came from "just one litter" http://justonelitter.com/litter.html
You want to breed your dog for all the wrong reasons.
Of course we can, its just that most people don't support irresponsible people wanting to breed their pets. Its not because we can't read, its because we care.
