Do you know what that means? Did you know one can be BOTH?

Kenyai: "An agnostic has not reached the conclusion that God does not exist."

An agnostic is simply one without knowledge.

An atheist-agnostic doesn't say, "I believe God doesn't not exist." Simply, "I do not believe God exists."

A theist-agnostic doesn't say, "I believe 100% in God." Simply, "I believe in God."

Theism is belief in God. Atheism is absence of belief in God.

Agnosticism and gnosticism are NOT separate from theism and atheism.

An atheist-agnostic doesn't say, "I believe God doesn't exist." (Correction)

"Does that mean you don't believe because you don't know, or you don't know because you don't believe?

Or you just don't believe you know......."

I don't believe in God. And I KNOW that I *cannot* know everything to assert with 100% confidence there is no God. As someone else mentioned: gnostics are arrogant.

There is actually another term for that: a soft atheist. That's probably what most atheists are. Most atheists are aware that they can never truly disprove the existence of God, in the same way they could never disprove a pink invisible elephant. They find it highly improbable that God exists.

Yes.

An atheist would say, "There is no god." An agnostic would say, "I don't know if there is a god or not."

So, I'm assuming there's a point in between those two extremes--the people who say, "I do not *believe* that a god exists". I am a part of this catagory myself.

I don't know your definition but I say:

It is arrogant for a human to think that they could possibly know anything about God. It is impossible to prove or disprove the existence of God. I believe in God.

-agnostic theist
nice to meet you :)

I don't believe in any higher power, because the entire concept is illogical to me.

However, I'm not that arrogant to claim to be sure.

So, yes, I call myself atheist-agnostic as well. I usually call myself atheist, because in my opinion everybody should be an agnostic.

The opposite of agnostic is arrogant. Arrogants claim to know the truth.

So, we basicly have 4 types: atheist-arrogants, theist-arrogants, atheist-agnostics and theist-agnostics.

You cannot be both. If you are atheist, you dont believe in God. Agnostics, such as I, believe that the existence of God, and the essential nature of things are unknown and unknowable. In fact, I believe there is a higher power. I just don't believe in any religion.

Absolutely you can be both. Agnostic covers a lot of ground based on the fact that we have no knowledge, or proof.

Explain how this is possible.

An atheist has reached the conclusion that God does not exist.

An agnostic has not reached the conclusion that God does not exist.

Defend your assertion or I will dismiss your claim.

1)Yes, but it doesn't make sense.
Either you know or you don't...if you are really sure there is no God you have more faith than an agnostic (unsure/neutral) or believer.

Simple, you believe that there are no gods and you believe that there is no means of determining the truth of the issue.
