It's a pretty fine line I think. Preaching by definition is to make known the word of God. Teaching however, involves instruction. Speaking could be anything, not necessarily even spiritual. So you can preach the Word, proclaim what it says and give insight, teach the Word, give instruction in righteousness or just speak. That's how I would clarify those three things :)

Preaching if you will notice is usually (not always) only one or two scriptures and the rest is who did this, who did that, why, where, when, how, (every day experience).

Teaching is more in depth with many scriptures, even when I am asked to preach at a church, I teach: I through out scripture after scripture to show what the Bible teaches through-out (not just one section of verse)

I am a Topical Teacher/Preacher...I pick a Topic and cover it from one end to the other. In my 30 plus years I find that the more scripture you through at them the chances for them to remember one or more increase.

I also like to give hand-outs and I also do not preach or teach more that 30 minutes (mostly 20)

THE REASON?: After 20 minutes people start drifting away and thinking about other things (the attention span) and that is a normal thing.

Others will just start yelling louder...I don't go there.

Preaching in the pulpit when somebody who is on a stage urging the people to accept his idea of something or a priest giving sermon to the people while on a stage.

Teaching in the pulpit when someboy who is in the stage teaches about his religion or ab out his topic on something.

Speaking in the pulpit when some body is just speaking to you while he is in the stage, speaking of something about his topic.

Speaking in the pulpit is when you are talking about something not pertaining to the Bible. Preaching in the pulpit is what you do on Sunday mornings and possible Sunday night. Teaching in the pulpit is what you do on Wednesday nights. That is in a lot of churches.

Preaching is to proclaim his word and stir up the people to faith, teaching is a little more thorough and line by line and speaking is just talking about anything, the Bible says to preach the word to every living creature! If the message is the word it will stir the person to ask for forgiveness and to get Gods holy spirit, here is how!

The Pulpit really means nothing. It is just a Podium fro holding your notes. I prefer as small a podium as I can get, cuz I don't like the separation from my Congregation.

Preaching involves a selected passage of the bible to example and expound upon in todays life.
Teaching is just speaking upon how the values we carry need polishing on the bibles standards.
Speaking is simply testifying to the glory involved in living according to the bible.

I think the real culprit
is that a lot of the people preaching in the pulpit
are gullible and can't help it.
