The holy spirit is the product of Jesus Christ rising...that means there is a Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ died for our sins so they could be erased and forgiven when we ask for forgiveness so that in turn God could look at us. God answers our prayers when we have turned our life over to him and asked for forgiveness and when we believe in him. If you haven't dealt with your sins and those sins committed agaisnt you then the "hound dog of the Holy Spirit" will come after you. When you go to get judged then God judges your character and what you have done with your life basically like people say "if you lived for God or not" and you will be judged based on that.

We say that we win the lost, but the truth is that The Holy Spirit does the real work. We can but present the Good News of Christ Jesus to the Sinner, but until The Holy Spirit brings conviction on him/her all we can do is Pray, and Preach.
I do believe there are those who The Holy Spirit stops convicting because they continuously reject Him, and their Heart becomes so cold that they may never be Saved.
I don't believe God hears the Prayers of an unrepentant hardened Sinner. The only Prayer of a Sinner He hears is the Prayer of Repentance.
Be Blessed in Christ Jesus !

Only the Holy Spirit can convert a sinner. The way to the Father is through Christ, so until an individual has Christ they can not go to God. Jesus is very clear on this, nor should you want to because a sinner can not stand before God. God is the Judge. If a person backslides Jesus promises to be faithful and will draw you back to Him by His Holy Spirit. I am sorry I really don't understand the part about you character burned away. If you are saved you don't burn, you are forgiven.

Only God can "convert" a sinner, and He hears ALL prayers. We are all His children, and He loves us all. And there is no good sin...And you will "deal with sin"...one way or the other. If there comes a time when a person no longer feels the conviction of the Holy Spirit, it is because that person has strayed from the path, not the Holy Spirit, and certainly not God. He will never turn His back on you...but you can turn away from Him. He'll be waiting with open arms for you to turn back...

We are all sinners. No one can convert a sinner, but it is the sinner who can choose. It is the truth and the Holy Spirit that convicts a sinner. Likewise, we've already been chosen. So, what we really have is the choice to reject the free gift already given to us. Grace and love is already offered by God. It is a free gift and there is nothing anyone can do to earn this gift. Receiving this gift can be difficult when overwelmed by our own sins. The Holy Spirit does not go away even when we turn from the Holy Spirit. Yet, there might come a time when your unwillingness will prevent it from changing your heart. Can you believe that? The God of the universe will stop short of changing your heart. You have control whether or not to let God do this.
Don't be so afraid of God. God's Holy Spirit is waiting for you. Likewise, don't feel uneasy about your questions. I know God can handle them. We have a God of truth and this God delights in you. He is also a God of righteousness and judgement. He will let us suffer the consequences of our choices if we refuse the truth that speaks directly into our hearts and mind.

I believe that being human, and being Christian, are two different things. If you are a Christian, you are beyond human, like a super human! You have to put forth some tremendous effort to refrain from the evils of this world. Only God can carry you. After all, Christian means "Christ Within" and to be "Christ-like" in nature. If you have Christ Within, and are Christ-like, then you are in great shape! So really, how many of us can be called Christian? I find what you said confusing, a bit. We are all sinners, and fall short of God's grace. If He doesn't hear our prayers, as we are sinners, then how can we ask Him to help us resist the devil, repent, and live better as Christians? If God did hear you in the past, as you say, and you made many mistakes that would make you a sinner in God's eyes, then how did He help you, if He doesn't answer the prayers of sinners? I don't have an answer. It's very confusing, and I hope that you will pray and receive your answer. The Lord works in mysterious ways, indeed!!

Good sinner? Interesting God sees no distinction your either a sinner or youve recieved the Holy Spirit and growing in faith and serving the Lord. No the Holy Spirit wont strive forever you can grieve him to the point that he leaves! God can also give you over to a reprobate mind and you would be incapable of repenting. So you should be conscience of the fact that you dont have an uncontional guarentee that your saved no matter what. Your name can be blotted out of the Book of Life and you should fear that possibility.

Sinners do not need for anyone to "convert" them. They only need to repent of their own sins, not so they can get into heaven but because they finally understand the difference between right and wrong. This can happen any time, or many times, throughout life, including at the last moment. And the process is equally open to all human beings of all religions. God, if s/he exists, is an equal opportunity absolver.

The Bible teaches that sin will stop God even hearing our prayers (Psalm 66:18). It teaches, among other things, that if we pray with doubt, we will not get an answer (James 1:6-7).
Rom. 8:26, 27; John 14:26)
"Christ is a royal Priest (Zech. 6:13). From the same throne, as King, he dispenses his Spirit to all the objects of his care, while as Priest he intercedes for them. The Spirit acts for him, taking only of his things. They both act with one consent, Christ as principal, the Spirit as his agent. Christ intercedes for us, without us, as our advocate in heaven, according to the provisions of the everlasting covenant. The Holy Spirit works upon our minds and hearts, enlightening and quickening, and thus determining our desires 'according to the will of God,' as our advocate within us. The work of the one is complementary to that of the other, and together they form a complete whole."

No one can convert a sinner. It's a personal choice.
If the Christian belief of an all-knowing god is true, then yes, God would hear the prayers of sinners, unless of course, the teachings of Christianity are untrue and God only hears those he wants to...
