Not really, but it can mimic a mental disorder, especially if you don't realize why you are stressed.
I was stressed after being displaced from my job and assigned a new job I hated. The job caused me to have flashbacks of child abuse because I was working with abused kids. I didn't realize that the panic attacks and job avoidance were stress related. As a result I was diagnosed with a serious disorder.
A mis diagnosis is a dangerous thing though. I was medicated and my symptoms didn't really get better. And the stigma lingers.
Finally, I took some time off work and "magically" felt better.
Turns out I'm not crazy after all. Just in a job that doesn't suit me.
So I would just suggest that you do some soul searching and figure out why you are stressed. It is probably do to an external factor or maybe multiple factors.
Don't give into the urge to label yourself crazy, because that is when you know you have given up on yourself.

Having stress means you are a living, breathing, person. We all live with good stresses and bad stresses and a whole lot of just plain life.
Stress means pressure or effort. Your lips are stressed when you speak in anger, when you bite an apple, or when you kiss.
Stress can be happy, like a wedding
sad, when you move out of town
grief, when you lose a person or a relationship
Stress can often come from too many things to be done and too few hours to do them in,
Stress can be negative to your health, such as living in a violent household, where you fear for your safety.
Not crazy, living breathing and alive.

Having stress unfortunately, is a way of life in today's world; in this system of things we live in. As the world goes further into the future, the worse off mankind and our stability becomes.
Too much stress, however, can make one crazy if you do not turn to what can be soothing, comforting, comprehensive to why the state of the world is what it is presently. Take of all cases the Virginia Tech man who slaughtered so many and then himself. He had a great deal of stress that built up within him for many years even before entering college.
Instead of turning for instance, to the nearest Kingdom Hall, what did he do? He turned to Satan for answers and look where it got him? Absolutely 6 feet under and many others suffered as well. Yes, can make you crazy if you let it, but look towards what is true and righteous to help you see your way; to help ease the pain or you could turn out like Cho, or Dalmer, or Beyonky, or anyone who takes the wrong way out intentionally.
It always leads to disaster and negativity.

if you are having anxiety attacks, then that's is signs of craziness. it's not absolutly normal. It is a fear of something that gets bigger and bigger, and it overwhelms you. it's a form of depression and when you're stressed, you are driving yourself a little crazy and breaking down your body... i know i've never was as stressed ans i've been in the past two years, i use to have insomnia and didn't sleep alot, now i cant go to sleep at all, and then i've noticed that i am depressed, even when doing stuff i like, so i try get out of the house and have fun, but
you have to stop stressing yourself, it developes more fears, and you get overwhelmed, keep a journal, scrapbook, etc, i swear ths works wonders, i kid you not,
once you write down what you've done today, if you don't feel you would want to read it, or you know it is depressing, tear it up and throw it away, just writing it down and getting it out of your system relieves you
then turn to a positive hobbie that you love, which involves live and rich colors, you'll be amazed at how calm and peaceful you'll feel
also, writing a to do list, turning on a fan and lying down feeling the breeze, with a nature sounds cd, will put you at so much ease! ;-)

No it most certainly does not-the majority of amercians today are dealing with some type of stress-wheather it be financial or an illness or familyand relationship problems-we all have some type-the thing is how we deal with it -some of us are just able to handle it better-some have an outlet like going to the gym-or a hobby they enjoy that makes them forget for awhile-and then there are those who just cant seem to relax because of it and worry consistantly and may need some help from a dr---------but it has nothing to do with being crazy.

Stress can kill you,it's debilitating and can change your life. But,no,you're not crazy. It's only a loud and furious wake-up call to the body that some changes are in order, and very soon.If that were the case, most of our population would be hospitalized,or confined to home with a guardian or nurse. Take care. SW FNP

As a healthcare provider can I have the stage to make a comment on the term 'crazy'. Everyone is under stress these days. Mental health is not black or white...not sane or insane. It changes constantly up and down from levels of mental health to less stable levels. When people use the term 'crazy' it makes it difficult for everyone in society to accept mental illness as they do physical illness. And it keeps people from getting help when they are suffering. People do not feel shame when they are diagnosed with heart disease or diabetes.....but people with mental illness do not even tell others they are suffering. If we could accept mental illness as readily as we accept physical illness maybe people would seek and accept help before they deteriorate to the point of suffering...losing marriages and jobs....suicide.....or homicide.
