From the videos I saw, it appeared that the cops were taking cover far away from the action. This seems rather cowardly to me. If I had a firearm, I would have been moving towards the gunfire. I'm not saying they should have sprinted into the line of fire, but they weren't doing shiit.

Gun control will solve nothing. Had the students and/or faculty, who were certified to carry a concealed firearm, been allowed to carry their weapons on school-grounds, this wouldn't have happened. Check out this article.

As for the guy who said I'd have my tail between your legs, I can only say that you are wrong. Also, it's very easy to see who the culprit is. He's the guy shooting everyone with a gun. Here's a plan, KILL THE GUY SHOOTING EVERYONE WITH THE GUN!

Fr. Chuck has changed my mind with his logical, well-thought response. In light of the bell-tower incident, in Austin, perhaps it's best to identify the threat, first.

no, if you hear gun fire and have no idea where it is comming from, you find cover untill you know where it is comming from, With high power rifles, you can be shot from over a mile away by a sniper so untill you know more, you cover, that is basicly training for anyone,

after you know more and can go in a direction in a safe manor you procede.

People merely going toward a sound ( that echos also) are called targets.

I guess it's time for the arm chair quarterebacking. What did you expect the cops to do? Just storm the building with no idea what they were after? I hate people like you who talk this crap. Do you think they should have gone running in there guns a blazing, shooting anything and everything in sight? Did you ever stop to think they were in a safe area to plan out the SAFEST moves? Or are you convinced they were just being COWARDLY ? Open your eyes, not your mouth next time. I would really have liked to see what you would do in the same situation. I'll bet you'd have your tail between your legs, and running to your mommy so damned fast.

Don't blame the police I know they feel just as guilty. Blames the mis communications I know it they were there the whole time and needed more info .But the Issues we need to ask is GunControl. Students and people in general need to get it htru the law enforcement to insist on monitiring gun laws or change them for goodness sake. I am simply outrage about this day and age and so concern about our children's future.

OK, Robocop. First, the cops had no clue what they were dealing with. no one did.
To storm the scene like the Normandy invasion, there could have been gunfire all over the place and many more dead.

It is very easy, from the comfort of our homes, to find fault with those who were there. Let's resist that temptation, shall we?
What a horror. Surely all can see that no one, excepting the shooter, is to blame.

Guess police officers on the scene just can't grasp the
":true situation" like the citizens watching the local media
do -- right on man
