Thank You!!! This is just the argument that I have. When did schools become the property of just one relition? And if you firmly have your religion - whatever one - in your heart, do you need society to espouse it in school?

There are too many and with diversity ruling our society we wouldn't be able to pick just one without upsetting people.
I find however, that living in the United States, at least in the state I live in, Christianity is clearly n my face everywhere I turn. We have Christian holidays off from work and school (ie. Good Friday & Christmas) and we don't get my most sacred holiday of Samhain off. So, I would take a guess and answer your question with ... they'd probably let some form of a Christian God back into the schools and at that point I'd be forced to homeschool my children.

Whether you like or not God is always with you guiding you from your undertakings because God love us, his creatures.
What you mean in your question is a religion that will teach you in the school regarding the words of God in the book called bible for the Christians, Koran for the Islam, Buddhism for the Budish
The Prophet or God of Buddhism is Buddha, the God of Islam is Allah with their prophet as Muhammad while the God of the Christians is God, the Father, and the Son of God,Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit of God.
There is nothing wrong allowing your school to teach religion inside the school. School children believe on Buddhism will attend on the side of Buddhism, Islam on the studies of Islamic religion while the Christians will be on christian religion, so that you will not be mixed up with another..

I think "GOD" should be allowed back into school. The matter of choice of religion should be left open to the individual. "GOD" should most definitely be an option, and not total taken away. When a particular moment at school requires prayer or some religious moment, school official should allow a moment of silence and the individual can worship whomever they feel is "GOD" to them. Spirituality above human understanding is a MUST in these trivial days and time!

I really think this debate is silly. The objective of education isn't to learn morality, rather, the objective of education is to learn. Education is meant to prepare the next generation to be competent in the work force. Those attributes for success fundamentally boils down to the ability to objectively think logically and communicate that logic. Subsets of this skill include oral communication, written communication, working in groups, and having work ethic. Debating God or creationism is a waste of time.
The institution of the family and church are where those subjective debates should take place, not in the education system. The education system needs to teach our youngsters how to succeed in the corporate world.
Subjects should be:
English, History (both world and US), Foreign Language, Social Studies, Science, Mathematics, Philosophy, NOT THEOCRACY.

As A Christian, I take God with me wherever I go and would not even question whether or not He was allowed there or not. Who can stop you from taking whatever God you choose to school or anywhere else if you keep Him in your heart with you always. Who are we to impose restrictions on where God can and cannot go? Are you going to tell Him He is not allowed somewhere?

Buddha was not a god. He was a man that attained enlightenment and taught other about it.
I'd be happy with a Buddhist focus on enlightenment and truth in our schools.

I don't see anything wrong with allotting a short time for personal worship. Students would be able to pray or meditate to whomever they believe in.
