What happened at Tech can happen anyplace. There is nothing rational in any of his actions and since he killed himself he has robbed us from finding any truth.
Any person can get a gun anywhere in the world. I don't care what country or what there are weapons available for sale. All you have to do is add one crazy person and you can end up with Tech.

Why not, look what is happening with the kids of Trinidad and Tobago. Look, the case with the mother of little Amy literally fell apart, mother set free, why, because the policeofficer on vacation, what is going on with our country. That child had to be brought up in some sort of regimental setting to kill so many people without care and then kill himself. Pray for the kids people, pray for the country

I think it can.
Classic example... the brutal murder of Sean Luke Lum Fai who died with a ruptured intestine after a cane stalk was shoved up his rectum.
The boys who perpetrated this gruesome act are both less than 16 years old.
If you can see that the Virginia Tech incident occured because of someone with a sick and twisted mind.... I would think that that Sean Luke incident displayed similar minds
While teaching I met all kinds of students... those who are clinically depressed and those who THINK they are depressed... the emos and punks... the so-called badjohns and all we have to do is hope that these children are somehow and in someway positively influenced along the line so they can be good law-abiding citizens

Yes it can if the same kind of elements exists. What you had was a very disturbed young man who, unfortunately was unable to get help. When these things happen, we as parents (and we must remember he could have been our son) cry in our hearts for all those souls (including his). I know many of you might say he was a cold hearted murderer and as much as i agree with you to some extent, i see the case from a psychological point of view and will continue to ask myself - what made this person hate soooo much - i expect we will never know. How very sad.

I don't think so......I was listening to Red 97.7 this morning as I was getting ready for work and they asked this same question.......Because we are a people who generally don't take on one another when they are being cruel to us or to each other, it won't happen.......we believe in "let them talk"........On the other hand because we tend to copycat everything from those moron Americans, it could happen........What I am sure about is that I am not capable of murder-suicide because other people were cruel to me.......i had episodes of cruelty happen to me as a teenager attending secondary school but it was not enough to make me want to kill people......i would prefer if they died on their own speed......

Unfortunatley, I do. Children are becoming more and more detached from reality and they are not phased by graphic violence. They have becomeare extremely Westernized and do not respond to discipline as they used to. This seems to be a world wide trend. This present generation is capable of anything, good or evil.
