Atheists and the like, what would it take to prove to you that what we as Christians say is true? What would we have to do for you to believe that there is a God who loves you and wants you not to perish?

I am sorry if you feel that by asking questions that I am "forcing" my beliefs on you. The Bible does say that we as followers are to go out into the world and witness for the Lord so people will be saved. I cannot sit on my hands and wait for people to come to me while so many die. As a Christian I could not live with myself knowing I did nothing to at least try. And when I say perish I mean our souls after our bodies die.

Nothing. You can't force anyone to believe something they want. All you can do is tell people your point of view and make it clear where you stand and answer their questions. Don't take offense to their questions because it shows they have an interest. You never know the desire in someone's heart, something is driving them to ask you questions whether you think they come across as rude or unbelieving.
The best thing you can do is to live the way you suggest to them to live. Be a good example. You need to be a drinking fountain not a river. You need to let them drink at their own convenience instead of flooding them.
And at the end of the day you need to respect their decision and belief. God gave them free will and if He wanted to take that free will away, then he could take it away Himself. It's your job to show people the light, not to blind them. It's a tough burden, but self-discipline is the single best attribute you can have. Naturally you want them to convert, but if they feel like you're trying to convert them or you're trying to coerce them, they will flee. It's like feeding a rabbit. If you throw carrots at them, they'll run. You need to let them nibble bits and pieces of bible to earn trust, and eventually they'll trust you enough to pick them up and feed them mass amounts.

Even a little, tiny bit of real evidence that it's not all just a myth would be a start.
You've got a lot on your plate to prove. And there's several parts you need to prove individually.
#1--You need to prove that there is a "God".
#2--You need to prove that the "God" you believe in is the RIGHT God.
#3--You need to prove that this "God" actually loves us.
#4--You need to prove that we would actually perish for not believing in this "God."
#5--That Jesus really existed at all.
#6--That Jesus is the incarnated God.
#7--That there is a Heaven
#8--That the ONLY way to get to Heaven is through Jesus.
Bible verses aren't enough. As far as atheists are concerned, it's just a book written over 2000 years ago by superstitious nomadic Middle-Eastern men. So you actually have the added responsibility of proving that:
#9--The Bible is ACTUALLY the word of God, and not just the rantings of superstitious nomadic Middle-Eastern men.

It is not Christians place to attempt to convert atheists back into the fold. Instead of worrying about what other people's beliefs are, focus on the strength of your own faith. Everyone has the right to make a decision for themselves regarding what their religion is and it is wrong for anyone to try to impress their beliefs on others. Imagine how you would feel if an atheist tried to convince you that there was no God.

To make anyone to believe you, you need to get to show prof in your own actions. This world is so full of persons who say they believe but there actions make them to failures.
It's always hard to convince some body if you don't know what make that person so convinced of the opposite.
You can never force some one to believe it comes out of knowledge.
To know the love of something you have had to fellt it.

why is that so important to you? i am a christian, but i was taught to lead by example and to spread God's word by LIVING HIS WORD...not FORCING his word onto everyone you come into contact with. you need to just back off and start living your own life as a true christian, and when someone does come to you for help, provide that help without preaching or teaching. just do it. that is the best message of all. "some people pay compliments as though they expect a receipt." the same applies to helping a person. don't pursue that unless you have a genuine desire to help with NO expectation of acknowledgement or reciprocation or expression of gratitude, feeding your own sense of glory or pride or self-love. think you can try that? blessed be.

We can't do anything to change them or prove it to them. Even if we did have an 'comeback' for every argument that they produce it would not convince them. People are reached through relationships and showing that Christians aren't all judgemental hypocrites. They have a right to believe what they like even if we know it is wrong.

many have rejected already- even the Israelites saw a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night- and they still turned their backs on God- so doing a miracle and then saying "i'll do it again" some people will never believe. it's kind of like a battered woman who keeps going back to her abusive boyfriend- she knows it's wrong- you can tell her it's wrong- but she'll never believe it's wrong enough to leave him.

Read The God Delusion, and Letter to a Christian Nation, and tell us where we're wrong. Prove to us that your god - out of thousands - exists, and show us how we can verify your claim objectively. Ask your god to stop allowing evil to be done in his name.

Maybe stop thinking that you have to prove your relgion. Normally people only set out to prove things that they do not believe in. If people are interested in your religion, they will seek you out. And just because you believe in your god, does that mean that you will not perish? i must have missed the part where christians are immortal.
