Find him his favorite rock album of all time on vinyl--I would love that. If it doesn't sound like his thing, maybe something you could do together, like two tickets to his favorite team's next game or to a show he'd like. You could take him to dinner before/after at his favorite restaurant, and maybe bring him a flower or something... Being a guy, girls never 'take me out', I always take them out -- I would like it if a girl planned a fun date for me.

Food. Make him some brownies. It's always better to give him something you spent time on than something you just went out and bought. That sort of thing gives me the warm fuzzies.
