don't know how I would have got there since we lived so far away from the nearest church....

We went when I was very young, but attendance tapered off after I was about age 10.

That being said, I actually remember insisting on going to church at Christmas time when I was about 13 or so. I think we went a few times at Christmas after that.

I became a born again Christian at age 26 and resisted going to church - evangelical church was definately not what I was familiar with. But I'm glad I did, because I am closer to God now than I ever have been before, and continue to grow in Him every day.

That's a hard question to answer because you can't relive the choices your parents already did in the past.....you can't really see how those choice effected you in order to base a non biased opinion. But, I would think a person would still come to some "spiritual" understanding as they got older given mortality issues. So, I can see how no church as a youngster and still going to church as an adult and also the reverse being true.

Probably not. When you go to mass every Sunday morning at 6 in the morning from the moment you are born till you are 18, going to church isnt something that you are really into.

Probably not, simply because if they didn't make me go, then I would not have had any desire to go. Then again, if my parents raised me with their Christian beliefs but just didn't go to church, I might have found a way to go anyway, simply because I remember being very passionate about my faith and beliefs as a child and I would have wanted to go. Either way, believing the way that I do just makes sense to me, and if I had not gone to church as a child but had heard about God, then as an adult, I would have at least wanted to go to church just to check it out.

My family didn't make me go at all. At age 6 I decided I wanted to go with my grandfather and see what it was all about (he was the only one who went regularly). I was enrolled in Sunday School but was promptly kicked out for "asking too many questions". Go figure.

I kept attending services until my grandfather passed away - it was one thing I was able to share with him. However once he was gone I stopped going as my growing skepticism made me question everything I was hearing.

Today I am an atheist.

Yes, but they didn't make me go. We just went .Families just do things together. If you are younger go on your own it is a good place to make friends. Most generally you will be among kids your age who won't make ALL the wrong choices , cause somebody usually says "we better not do that .Lets do this instead .We don't want to get in trouble or hurt any one."

Well.. we went.. but only once to each Church and then next time we'd go to another.. we roamed around for a couple of years.

I still went for a couple of years after my parents stopped going. Now I work on Sundays though, so I rarely go.

They would have had to make me go the first time but after that I always wanted to go because my Sunday School teachers made learning about God/Jesus fun, We sometimes had ice cream and cake parties and lots of fun games that had morality lessons to go along with them and taught us that it's fun to help each other like Jesus helped us all. Church was cool!
