change support file windows/movie ?

Question

I edited one of my movies with windows movie maker. I want to try and upload it to myspace & tinypic. but when i right click and do properties the file type is still only by movie maker. how can i change it so its windows media player?

I am guessing (without knowing which kind of files you are using) that the files can be opened with Window Media. The files are probably just associated with Windows Movie Maker. Files can only be associated with one program, but they can be opened by any compatible programs. (Example: Text files are associated with NotePad, but can be opened by just about any word processing or spreadsheet programs.

If you right click the file and choose "Open With..." you should receive a list of programs that you can try to open the file with. Scroll through the list until you find Windows Media player.

If you want to make the files associated with Windows Media Player by default, you can do that as well. Open WMP, go to Tools; Options, "File Types" tab and click any files that you want associated with WMP. Then, when you double click on that file type, WMP will automatically launch and play the file.
