Being a Christian means more then believing in Christ. It means that you try follow his example, and let others see that in the way you live your life. No one if perfect but we can all try to be like him. I heard a fantastic quote once i can't remember who said it, but it says "does the light of Christ shine through your eyes, will he know you when he comes again because you have become like him."

As Jesus was the Word, so God speaks through nothing more than just what we're used to hearing every day - speech, writing, language, logic. It's a sign convention, according to Nietzsche. It's more high-level complex than signs and symbols. Although the guilty prefer signs and symbols which are open to reinterpretatio, they are not really being light this way.

We all need to be shining lights....show others the way to love. This can be done by actions and words that show our love as examples to others. I believe this can be done in humble ways as well (not necessarily naming a religion or Jesus). In other words, love is Jesus. Jesus is love. There are one and the same and thus if we show them to love we are showing them to Jesus and vice versa. Great question.
