It depends when he was eating the cereal. Let's say that he was eating cereal in the morning around 9:00 and later on that night he got sick. There is a slight chance that you might get it. There is no definite answer because it depends on your immune system and how fast the viurs had replicated.
If he had eaten cereal say less than 7 hours before he got sick, unfortunately you inevitably will. People are the most contagious in the beginning- when symptoms are first arising.
Throwing up though is a sign of getting better, even though during that time he is still contagious. About 2-3 days after of throwing up he will not be contagious.
But take lots of vitamin C and try getting some airborne. It is truly amazing.

double up on the vitamin C and zinc...whatever your body doesn't use, your body will "pee" out.
