Wellbutrin (or Zyban), a stimulant anti-depressant.
But it works differently than other antidepressants. I actually take it for ADHD.
I lost weight (and I was underwieght to begin with--ended up with the icky calorie shakes) and know a lot of other folks do too. Ask your doc if it can be good for you.
It's been a huge help to me with my problem, but mine is different than depression.
Good luck and take care :)

None that I know of. If your medication suits you then if you can why not plan a daily exercise regime as this will help with the weight gain and also help with the depression. When I was on them I found my weight shot up and has never really got back to what is was before I went on them. But thinking about it perhaps if I had exercised more frequently then I would have held my weight gain at bay. I know it is very difficult to feel motivated when you are feeling depressed but do try as it will help. You see you might change your medication to something that does not suit you instead of addressing the issue of the weight gain. I think when your on anti depressants you often feel sick and eat to combact the feeling of nausea. I know I did and I think that is was the constant picking at food that was to blame more that the medication being the cause of my weight gain. I could be wrong though. All the best and I hope that you will be feeling better soon.

Wellbutrin is actually known to be an appetite suppressant. I have been taking it for my depression for 4 years but it is definitely not for everyone and there are plenty more out there, especially ones in the SSRI family such as Paxil, etc. that will not cause weight gain either. Talk to your Dr. and he/she will be able to give you more information.

Anti-depressents don't work too well, you just need to release your emotions by talking to people about how you feel about them, others, yourself, certain things, and events. Depression can be caused by stress which in most cases is a result of emtional problems. Just open up and let it out, you'll be fine. And you're beautiful, inside and out.

They all make you lazy and because of that you will gain weight. Don't take them. They are bad for you and just mask a problem only you can solve for yourself. Ever tried prayer and asking Jesus to help you instead of taking pills?
